Habits and tics
Re: Habits and tics
I think I've actually killed off a lot of my tics. Like I don't do the leg thing any more, I don't bite my nails, tap my fingers. etc.
My tics are probably more verbal these days. At least my partner is usually picking on the crap I say.

I tend to bite my DS stylus a lot when I play in bed.
Re: Habits and tics
Pen biting. Another tic I no longer have.

Re: Habits and tics
A habit I have is that I tend to throw away my own troubles to comfort other people.
A tic I have is that I'm constantly always playing with my hair, looking for split ends, braiding it, running my hands through it, scratching my scalp, pulling it back and brushing it in front of my face. I do a lot with my hair.
I used to bite my nails a lot, but I got braces so I stopped being able to bite them off, so I sort of cleaned my nails all the time and got into a habit of cutting them before they got awful and long.

Re: Habits and tics
Whenever someone talks to me from a distance I'll always give em a thumbs up to let them know I heard them instead of just responding back. I give thumbs ups a lot now that I think about it. I used to have this really bad blinking habit where I would just blink constantly. It got to the point to where my eyes were in physical pain. I also used to have this weird breathing habit where I would kinda do this weird cough like thing to clear my throat, but at the same time I would be trying to breathe in or something so it would end up sounding really weird. It made my stomach hurt a lot too for some reason.

Haha, I do the opposite of that. My eyes don't get dry very quickly, so even with my contacts, I blink so seldom that it's disconcerting to anyone staring disconcertingly at me for a long time. Counter-disconcertion. I'm also undefeated at staring contests.
I also forget to breathe sometimes, then after a couple of minutes, I'll take a huge breath to compensate, but I don't notice until someone's like "Whoa, what was with that exaggerated sigh just now?"

Re: Habits and tics
People who said they RP out loud with themselves: same. Often times, doing this is how I fall asleep at night.
I talk to myself out loud. I do this so much, that I actually invented my own language to do it in.
I sometimes make up little motions to go along with various attack animations in Cockfighting Society. They are as dumb as you might imagine them to be.
Finally: you know that stereotypical tic that shows up in old cartoons, where someone is drawing a picture and they stick their tongue out? I do that. While drawing, and also while doing stressful things that require attention (like tricky platforming in a video game).

Me too :IShining Charizard wrote:People who said they RP out loud with themselves: same. Often times, doing this is how I fall asleep at night.
I've been having one going for the past two months and I've made up 29 different Pokemons that I live with. I've even come up with names and birthdays for each... kind of a "canon" of sorts.
Heh, I used to do this all the time with Superstar Saga moves.Shining Charizard wrote: I sometimes make up little motions to go along with various attack animations in Cockfighting Society. They are as dumb as you might imagine them to be.
Re: Habits and tics
i hit myself and other things when i get angry
Re: Habits and tics
i find myself practicing tap dancing whenever im in elevators by myself. usually just with one foot doing shuffles and maybe break out into a triple time step if im feeling daring

Re: Habits and tics
If my hands aren't otherwise occupied when I'm spacing out I'll pick at my lower lip. My tongue has to poke out in order for me to concentrate on anything - I switched to note-taking on my laptop in college because I got so many odd looks when I was writing. I fiddle with the attachments on my collars when I'm nervous. Can't think of anything else right now.

Re: Habits and tics
Normally, I'm not too much of a social person, but when I really like someone I talk to them whatever chance I get and I worry that it's my fault if they don't keep the conversation going.
I-I just like talking with them, is all. Sometimes they think I talk too much, though.
