Dark/Demon's Souls
Re: Dark/Demon's Souls
I have slain the fat man with the halberd and have found the elevator. Glory is sure to follow afterwards.

I'm starting to think my "do all of the things and collect all the stuff" habit is not going to well from a story perspective. NPCs are not pop flyin'.
Don't blame me; I voted for Kodos.

Re: Dark/Demon's Souls
Beat Yhorm the Giant. I loved the battle, the way you have to defeat him is awesome.
I'll probably do a secondary run after my first to try and get all the NPCs.
Edit:
I accidentally found out about a certain sorcery.
Not sure how late in the game it is but it sounds neat.
It was White Dragon Breath, it's Seath the Scaleless' crystal breath from DS1.
I'm pretty certain I've completely missed some NPCs and some probably died. :pAirra wrote:I'm starting to think my "do all of the things and collect all the stuff" habit is not going to well from a story perspective. NPCs are not pop flyin'.

I accidentally did High Lord Wolnir before Cathedral of the Deep. That probably messed up the Onion Knight. storyline, I haven't found him again ;. ;

Re: Dark/Demon's Souls
Fighting Aldrich now.
He's a walking reference to Dark Souls 1. He has Gwyndolin's visage, a similar body to Gravelord Nito and you fight him in the exact same room you fought Ornstein and Smough. I love this, even if his sorceries are annoying to dodge.
Edit: and he's dead. :p
And now I've beaten Dancer of the Boreal Valley. She was pretty fun to fight. Dodging through her fluid sword slices.
Edit: At Lothric Castle now. I encountered a dragon couple at some gates. Used my Arbalest to kill one and the other one died as soon as the first one.
Kind of sad if you think of it. The other couldn't live without the first.

Edit: oh geez I messed up.
I thought Greirat was taking too long getting back from Irithyll.
Found him dead by the spider ladies in the sewer.
I should be used to NPCs dying on Dark Souls but I feel really bad about letting this happen.
Too many edits:
Beat Old Demon King and Oceiros. Both pretty easy for Dark Souls standards.
Now on to Ancient Wyvern which seems a lot tougher.
Edit: nevermind, Ancient Wyvern easiest boss.
I'm getting really bored with this one boss now.
Nameless King. Every time I try I can't get more than four hits on him. I kill his first phase super easy, 1 or 2 Estus used on that. But you have to kill his freaking dragon every single daisies time. He's bloody hard enough without this time waste before the real battle. He can chain his attacks too well, there is almost no chance to heal if he hits you. I die with 9 Estus Flasks still in stock.
I hate the thought of having to skip a boss but with no simple way to practice against him without having to go through phase 1 every time it just feels like way too much of a bother to even try anymore.
and I just got him to half health and now he's got more powerful attacks! I give up, I am not beating this guy. His regular attacks are bad enough, then he adds bloody timing dodge lightning strikes. To hell with this.

Re: Dark/Demon's Souls
I beat Vordt of the Baltimore Orioles using a summoned npc phantom as a meat shield and that was super fun. I still hate how the knights walking the cathedral grounds leading up to the boss area can still turn my shit sideways without much effort though...

Re: Dark/Demon's Souls
that dosen't change, and you come back through that area and unlock a new path later in the game and they're even worse! it's amazingShoolis wrote:I beat Vordt of the Baltimore Orioles using a summoned npc phantom as a meat shield and that was super fun. edit:
oh yeah he's tough as shit. he's honestly an extra boss, and i wouldn't fight him until after you beat the normal final boss.I'm getting really bored with this one boss now.

Re: Dark/Demon's Souls
I mostly see that when beating 'character-like' NPCs.iamthelordhitman wrote:so idk why this is happening but if i kill certain enemies i actually get an estus flask back?

The ones who fight like a playable character and don't respawn.
Like you're taking their Estus.
Though I have seen random NPCs using Estus, I wonder if killing those specific ones give you more.

Re: Dark/Demon's Souls
it's sort of like the humanity mechanic in DS1, there's a set amount of enemies you can beat in every area that gets higher constantly, but if you hit it, then you get an estus back.
if you look, your ember form actually very slightly gets more and more fire-y as you get closer to that cap. it's extremely small, but it's basically the only indicator.

Re: Dark/Demon's Souls
One good thing came from failing to beat that boss earlier.
Everything else seems far easier by comparison.
I beat Champion Gundyr after that fail streak. First try too. Coiled Sword Fragment is beautiful. Unlimited homeward bone.
Edit: Those dragons I mentioned earlier. After exploring the castle a bit o found one of those sludge snake things sitting at a wall. I killed it and the Green dragon vanished.
On one hand I'm like "Dragons can get that thing?!" while on the other hand "I'm glad that snake thing is the same size as from a regular guy."
Imagine that black sludge snake thing the size of a dragon.
All the nope.
Edit:
Beat Dragonslayer Armour first try. NK has made everything feel a whole lot easier.
Edit:
Hey it's my favourite kind of bonfire.
http://i.imgur.com/YBpxH5Z.jpg
A one that is within view of another bonfire.
Edit: I maxed out Dragon Tooth. My god this thing crushes stuff. Had to change my Lothric Knight body to the Drang body and remove my Arbalest but daisies this thing is awesome.
Beat The Twin Princes and the Final Boss. Yay. I'm gonna give NK a few more tries but if I can't do it I'm just gonna finish the game. :p
I'm just gonna finish the game. NK is just not within my reaction time to beat.
I know when something is just too much for me. Just gonna be annoyed that I managed to beat every boss bar him.
Wonder if he'd be easier as a sorcerer. Being able to hurt him from a distance...
Hey, this is my first Soulsborne game run that focused on Strength.
I was a Sorcerer on DS1. Did Skill, Arcane and Bloodtinge runs on Bloodborne.
Battle Axe all the way until I got Dragon Tooth maxed.

Re: Dark/Demon's Souls
I beat the shit out of the giant hate tree and it only took me two tries, which was weird but it was more of a puzzle boss than a "fight the thing" boss. It kind of felt like a boss from Shadow of the Colossus in that way. I turned its soul into the Spear of Astor since I'm a spear guy and I can't wait to find upgrade materials for it to make it better than the basic spear I got at the beginning of the game.
