Dark Dawn has an awful story/script.

Must. Not. Read. Spoilers! I have to wait until Christmas to get it, just like some of you guys do.

But what do you people who do have it think of the new djinn designs? I don't really like a lot of the venus djinn, some of them are really weird.
A lot of the others are cool, though.

But I don't own the old ones :(

I plan on fixing this, though.

Is it really that bad? I heard it's pretty piss easy, and I don't really like the new 3D graphics, but is the game really terrible?

I'm half-kidding to annoy the fanboys, but the GBA games really are much better. The 3D graphics are rough, but you can't expect much from the DS. It is way too easy, you get six Djinni at the start of the game without having to do anything and the script is horrible. For example, Isaac and Garet are all worried about their kids going in the forest and fighting monsters even supervised, and right after they send them off to the other side of the continent or something. Also they spend minutes trying to find the obvious solution to a stupid problem. Example: "We can't let the kids lead us in the forest, but we want to train them. [five minutes later] I know! Let's help them in battle when necessary!".

Dark Dawn's a little disappointing, but I'm still having fun with it. Golden Sun's always had a lot of excess dialogue, which, while redundant and unnecessary, I enjoyed for the character interaction and thought it fleshed them out a bit more. Unfortunately, DD has a lot of plainly stupid conversation, Paco's example being a prime one. It feels like the writers/translators kind of half-assed it.

I just got through the incident in Belinsk, at the end of which the party agrees to go to the opera house to save Volecheck. I spent about twenty minutes running around trying to find a way there, but it seemed to be physically blocked at every point, then I triggered an event at the pier where we just kind get set to run away without another thought for Volecheck till Sveta remembers to scream his name dramatically.

The complete lack of difficulty and chunks of poor writing are my only real complaints about it. I'd still recommend it to play, assuming one has finished the GBA games.

Despite all Paco says, the game is still pretty awesome. I'm currently on my second playthrough and I'm making sure to get every summon/djinn.

The game is somewhat juvenile though, and it bugs me
