I have been marginally interested SolaToRobo for a bit. How would you guys who played it rank it? I've heard mixed things about the gameplay.
Re: Great games that just didnt receive enough attention
You run around in a robot, the Dahak, lifting other robots/ monsters and throwing them to the ground/ at each others. You can tune your robot to upgrade its stats (Attack, Defense and Mobility are obvious, Hydraulics help you lift your enemies faster).
At some point in the game, you can change the Dahak's model, every model focusing on a certain stat and giving you different special moves related to it (you get more models during a New Game+, and New Game ++ unlocks a model that lets you use all special moves at once).
The gameplay is repetitive and can be tedious at time, and it isn't much of a challenge outside of a few quests and boss battles that are a lot of fun. Though you're mostly playing ping-pong with the bosses (catching their attacks and throwing them back), they throw some curve balls at you and having to dodge stuff while trying to attack is fun.
Apart from the gameplay, the story is kind of clichéd but the characters are very charming and attaching, and the setting is really great (I love the Little Tail Bronx universe). The game looks stunning, which unfortunately has an impact on the framerate - but not enough to make it unplayable. The music is nothing to write home about, it's here and it's nice but that's about it.
Many call the game "the swan song of the DS" and I can see where they're coming from, but I think saying that gives people a lot of expectations. While I would definitely recommend you to play through it, I hope you're not expecting a masterpiece. It's a fun, well-crafted game.

Uhhhh... Super Princess Peach?
It's a pretty fun game. Except the last level is bullshit cause you have to 100% the other levels to unlock it.

Except the final boss.
I agree, this game seriously warrants a sequel.Operation Awesome wrote:make a drill dozer sequel instead of Sinnoh remakes, Game FreakLiraxus wrote:This.Operation Awesome wrote:did I say Drill Dozer 4 years ago when this thread was last active?

The only thing I hated was the fact that the music changed to that stupid "super pop flyin'" theme that got annoying by the third level.
I will say the bosses made up for it, the game had some seriously kickass boss fights.

Wait, if it was on Xbox, wouldn't that mean it was two generations ago?

dude I get that you hate the Xbox One, and that's a very noble purpose in life, but you also fucking love the Wii U and it seems like you've lost all sense of internal consistency hereTerraChimaera wrote:Xbone is practically last gen, so yes

Re: Great games that just didnt receive enough attention
He means that going by tech and the specs that Wii U is firmly competing with the consoles of last generation, so you saying Xbone sucks for being last gen is a bit inconsistent.
Stuff goes here later.

People, people.
Can we all just agree that Cubivore was an amazing game that didn't get nearly enough attention?
