There used to be a glitch in the unpatched game.
Was removed with the first update.

I think they just put that in the MQ map to mess with us.

Also they do the same on 3DS MQ map.

Oh yeah, the weapon choice glitch? It was funny for 10 minutes. And easy to do.

The new game has been delayed yet again; we now know that it's going to be released in March next year as a launch title for the NX while simultaneously releasing on the Wii U. So basically what happened with Twilight Princess. We also know that the new game will be the focus of Nintendo's E3 presentation, as well as their only playable game at E3. Also, we got a piece of official artwork.

That's a real neat Link design, looks inherently Link without his regular green tunic, probably cuz it reminds me of Link from Wind Waker.

Been seeing quite a few comments here and there to that effect; people seem to be warming to the new design.

New items look wonderfully imaginative and fun. World looks absolutely gorgeous. You can climb practically any surface, including some enemies. Locations are diverse and colorful. It sounds like there might be voice acting that doesn't suck. The vast plateau that players were shown during E3 is just a tiny fraction of the game's world.

Yeah, everything's really worn down and the world looks so empty. Nintendo's said that there will be towns full of people, but so far this world looks like a post-apocalyptic wilderness. I like it; it helps the game stand out from previous entries. Nintendo has said that they're trying to break a lot of the conventions of Zelda, and I hope they continue that with the story and try to do something new instead of just having Link save Zelda from Ganon for the 100000000th time.

Speaking of story, Nintendo is trying to keep E3 fairly spoiler free, but it sounds like at some point the old man we see in the demo (who we all know will turn out to be someone important) says that Ganon was sealed inside of Hyrule castle many years prior to the events of this game and Link needs to find a way to defeat him before the seal breaks. This would explain the huge, ominous cloud seen in the trailer and off in the distance in the demo. Don't know how Zelda's going to factor into this, but I get the feeling she'll be captured or sacrificed by some minor villain who's trying to break Ganon's seal. Y'know, like Twinrova or Ghirahim. They could go a different route, and I really hope they do, but some of that idiot Aonuma's comments suggest otherwise. Still, if they're really trying to "break the conventions of Zelda" like they keep saying, this would be a good place to start.

They said multiple times that the Plateau area featured during E3 was less than 2% of the game world so I imagine there has to be a big town somewhere in the world. You just have to go find it.

I feel like they're also trying to go back to basic conventions Zelda originally set, where most titles in the modern series were linear in story progression, it seems like they're bodaciously just trying to update Zelda 1's open world aesthetic for a modern generation, which is absolutely rocking, they even have an Old man that looks identical to the one from the NES, save for the hood.

Before I was like "New Zelda. Meh.". Mow I'm legitimately curious about this. 3D Zelda has never really been my cup of tea, but BotW looks too amazing to just not pick up. My only real nitpick with it so far is the name, I just think it could be better. Don't ask me how, it's just a dumb hunch I have.

Considering the title and how the Master Sword is rusted and looks worthless, I definitely think the idea is "something awful happened and everything died."

The rusted MS actually makes me think this is probably in the ALttP timeline, as after ALBW, the Master Sword is just not used. Would make sense for it to be almost completely in ruin. It would also provide a way to cap Ganon's involvement in that timeline off, every other timeline has had him actually die for good and have to be reincarnated into some other form. In the ALttP timeline, he's stayed active and been constantly revived directly. Makes sense for him to have gone on one big rampage, destroyed Hyrule, and been sealed away only for Link to eventually come along, find the MS, and kill him good and proper.

If I recall correctly, Ganon was definitively killed in the original Legend of Zelda; Zelda II, which is currently the last game in the Hero Dies timeline, had enemies attempting to use Link's blood to revive Ganon, but they ultimately failed. I thought this might be the Child timeline, but your idea kind of makes sense; hell, they could even shove in another timeline divergence with Zelda II; one where Link survives and one where he's killed and Ganon is revived, leading to the events of Breath of the Wild. Alternatively, this could be a version of the Adult timeline in which the Goddesses chose not to flood the world; that would explain why Hyrule is in ruins and why there are Koroks. I just hope they don't set it before Ocarina of Time, because that wouldn't make any sense at all. Unfortunately, that seems like it might be the case, since (unless I'm mistaken) this is the first time in the series' chronology since Skyward Sword that the goddess Hylia has been mentioned.

I'm hoping for a Dark Tower, Turn ∀ kind of dealie. Something like it being set so far ahead of everything else, that every other installment has already taken place and are then referenced and poked fun at occasionally, but never directly.
