Finally got 30 and played my first ranked match today. We got paired against the worst team and it was honestly the easiest match I've ever played. Maybe I'll keep getting lucky and just start out at like Plat 4.

Finished the ten games and got ranked. I ended up winning 6/10. Ranked Silver 2.

After just hitting level 30? Nice.

Usually id recommend sticking to normals for a little while before jumping in to ranked but i guess you're okay, lol

Yea. Since I usually played with my gold level friends, I picked up the game fairly quickly. I'm still only confident at top and mid lane though. I'm absolute crap at adc.

As long as you eventually learn to play one or two eventually you'll be ok.
Even though I've been playing for 5 years im still pretty bad at ADC, but Ive got Kog'maw, Varus, and recently Quinn(though i mainly go top with her) down really well so if I have to play an adc have those to fall back on.

Im not the best at explaining the reason clearly (I think Phyol did a video on it maybe check it out) but the general rule of higher level solo queue is to be able to play three champions in every role.

Yea. I'm trying to pick up Ashe right now since she was recently changed. I've only tried her in one match though so far. We lost, but I didn't do as bad as I thought I would.

I really need to learn how to jungle though. I have no idea where to start with that. It's like a whole other game.

Picking up jungling got harder nowadays for new people, unfortunately.

I'd recommend starting with Warwick, because even though he's rather slow in the beginning to clear camps, he's very forgiving if a gank didn't go your way and you need to retreat, or you get caught in the jungle. You don't have to worry about too many surprise tactics either, because he's so basic.

With auto-attack reliant champs like WW, I'd recommend starting at the golems, so you can smite the big one and get your stun buff, or you start at the red camp. OR you can still start with the classic blue, because as good as WW is, his mana pool is plain shit - especially in the beginning of the game. From there on, just farm, occassionally showing up in a lane when it's really bad. You want to hit the pressure once you're lvl 6, WWs ult is the ultimate butt-rustling.
Don't worry about invading the enemy jungle just yet, get a route going trough your own first, then you can always expand.

Other forgiving junglers are Nunu, Maokai, Cho'Gath, Mundo (with lvl 6), Trundle, Nasus and Udyr. Basically more tanky champs which got a slow, speed boost or stun.
Nunu and Trundle feel similiar to Warwick, because they also have ridiculously high sustain in the jungle and can stay there forever. Cho'Gath also goes in that direction, altough he has a flat amount healed per monster/minion kill, unlike Trundle who gets 2% of his max health for anything which dies in his vicinity.

Alright. I already own Warwick, so it would probably be a good idea for me to try him. I just don't really understand when each specific buff would be useful.

As a jungler, most of the time you do the big (red and blue) camps for the mad exp. Blue is important for a lot of champs for mana regen and cdr, but after the first or second clear you should give it to your mid (if they have mana) cause they'll get more use out of it.

Red buff is very nice for ganks, because you get a free slow and extra damage on your autos. Just about every jungler can use it, the only one i can think of who doesn't might be Fiddlesticks, and even then it could come in handy. You can also give it to the adc or someone else who autoattacks a lot, if it's convenient to do so and it doesn't interrupt their farming.

As for smaller smite buffs, they're all more situational. Krugs and Gromp help your farming, raptors is very very nice to clear out wards (you just have to pay attention). Wolves is kinda underwhelming, but might come in handy if someone keeps invading your blue buff. Scuttlecrab is always nice to get, esp on dragon side early on, just make sure you're safe to get it without being ambushed.

Alright thanks. I'm still working on learning to support a bit better, but once I'm more confident at that, I'll try jungling out.

Also, screw Ekko. I can't seem to dodge his stupid disc thing.

for those hating ekko hes getting a mana cost increase on his w early levels and losing 5 base movement speed

I understand he is really mobile, but base movement speed nerfs are always a very fine line, it can be a very huge nerf even in small increments

I... am surprised that's all he's getting, considering he's supposed to be the "utility" assassin and still does boatloads of damage compared to other assassins.

I really think the game needs more options to counteract all the ridiculously mobile champs that are popular these days. I like the idea of a new summoner spell with reliable cc, or buffing exhaust to prevent dashes and blinks.

They said in their post about the change that this is all they felt comfortable with, and that they feel people still arnt used to fighting him enough to make any more changes. They said they'd like to wait a few more weeks before any "big changes"

no big changes my booty, acting like movement speed nerfs are no big deal :shakefist: dfdshvdfjhvdskjhfdhkj

I'm sure it is a big deal, I just didn't really see his movement speed as a problem. It probably will hit his roaming potential a lot, which makes a big difference in how ahead he gets in the early/mid game.

Idk, Ekko is just frustrating to fight so I was hoping they'd make his combat potential less... annoying.
