Always.

Also, the Bartimaeus Trilogy. Best books.
Oh god the Bartimaeus Trilogy. I totally man-teared in Ptolemy's Gate.

I need to buy that again, not read it in ages...

I really, really loved Twenties Girl more than I thought I would.

It might be my new favourite by Kinsella.

Currently finishing up The Neutronium Alchemist by Peter F. Hamilton. I have about 15 pages left out of 1134.

It's the second book of the trilogy, The Night's Dawn. And I'll be starting the last book today most likely.

It was actually really good. I like all that Greek mythology stuff.

Except every time the Furies were mentioned, I read it 'upstanding members of society'.

This post isn't interesting enough for the book thread.
About this. I have a problem with one important event in the story.

Spoiler'd for people who care.
There's a demon attack in the observation deck of the St. Louis Gateway Arch.

A big hole is blasted in the side, and, to escape death at the hands of a demon chihuahua, Percy jumps out and lands in the river (being the son of Poseidon, a fall from 630 feet into the river didn't hurt him and actually healed him).

If someone jumped out (or off) of the arch, they wouldn't make it to the river. There is a small area of park to go over, a massive staircase, a road, and then a dock.

He probably would have SPLATTED on the stairs.

He is a god, you know. I think he can jump just a BIT farther than the average person.

Also I've been reading just about everything by Terry Pratchett. I just finished the Wee Free Men trilogy and Interesting Times.

Half god. In the rest of the story he never shows any superhuman abilities besides being able to beat the shit out of people with water, and he can't be as easily harmed when standing in it.

And the sky is also Zeus' domain, so, if anything, he should have just been zapped by lightning as he fell, since they made a point not to fly to the west coast because the sky belongs to Zeus.

I don't think falling counts as the sky.
