Posted in the unimportant topics:
Spoiler'd for people who care.
There's a demon attack in the observation deck of the St. Louis Gateway Arch.
A big hole is blasted in the side, and, to escape death at the hands of a demon chihuahua, Percy jumps out and lands in the river (being the son of Poseidon, a fall from 630 feet into the river didn't hurt him and actually healed him).
If someone jumped out (or off) of the arch, they wouldn't make it to the river. There is a small area of park to go over, a massive staircase, a road, and then a dock.
He probably would have SPLATTED on the stairs.
About this. I have a problem with one important event in the story.[Citation Needed] wrote:So I read Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief today.
It was actually really good. I like all that Greek mythology stuff.
Except every time the Furies were mentioned, I read it 'upstanding members of society'.
This post isn't interesting enough for the book thread.

Half god. In the rest of the story he never shows any superhuman abilities besides being able to beat the shit out of people with water, and he can't be as easily harmed when standing in it.Mr. Mander wrote:He is a god, you know. I think he can jump just a BIT farther than the average person.
And the sky is also Zeus' domain, so, if anything, he should have just been zapped by lightning as he fell, since they made a point not to fly to the west coast because the sky belongs to Zeus.
