The only thing that worries most people is that he's adding a few characters. There is a female character that they made up that wasn't in the books. I'm personally assuming that it will be a lady in Lake-town.
Also Legolas seems to have a decently sized role, Orlando Bloom has said he's flown to NZ several times for filming.
Blanchet will be playing Galadrial.
And Frodo will have some sort of role.
But I think we'll be safe with PJ at the helm

Re: Movies
It sounds like it will be a decent interpretation of it. I'm looking forward to Mirkwood where they fight all of the spiders. But how the bloody hell is Frodo supposed to have a role?
There's also the classic Rankin Bass movie/movies to watch while we wait.

Re: Movies
Frodo's role is the most confusing to me too. For all we know it could just be a voice over/narration or a cameo. I doubt he'll do anything major.BurntToShreds wrote:It sounds like it will be a decent interpretation of it. I'm looking forward to Mirkwood where they fight all of the spiders. Re: Movies
He would probably be the narrator. It would fit, since it could be like, he's reading Bilbo's memoir's for the first time.Chekt wrote:Frodo's role is the most confusing to me too. He probably will be a narrator, to avoid confusion at the "I thought Bilbo was an old guy why isn't Frodo doing the adventuring" people who don't quite understand the LOTR Continuity.

Re: Movies
About time they gave a release date.
Re: Movies
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey: 14 December 2012 (USA)
The Hobbit: There and Back Again: 13 December 2013 (USA)
EDIT: Oh, Tauriel, the character they made up for the films isn't a Laketown resident, she is a Mirkwood elf.

Overall, I just have not been interested in movies lately. But Action movies take the cake.

Re: Movies
Die Hard 4 was horrible unless you just wanted to turn your brain off and watch pretty explosions. In this day and age there is no excuse for not doing some research on what computers can and cannot do.Malum wrote:You have 30 seconds to leave the thread before I stab you

Re: Movies
There really hasn't been a Die Hard movie so far that I hated. But obvs none come close to the first one.
But the thing that I didn't like the most about the 4th one, was that John became more like a superhero, and less of a regular dude.
