I was saying I understood the author wasn't hating on all upstanding members of society, just the whiny ones.

I think you mixed up the quotes in there. I meant to use your opinion as a "ditto".

I understood that. But the author is specifically referring to upstanding members of society in this comic. I'm pretty sure this same argument could be applies to other social groups too, but in this case it isn't.

I did. Actually, that's the first thing I went to when I thought of questioning it. Either you and I managed to find two very different meanings of the phrase, or you're gonna need to point out specfically how it was an Ad Hominem.
