Alright, this is an actual question here. I wanna see if Trennicus is smart enough to figure this one out.

You're on a game show, and there are three doors. The object of the game is to win a brand new car, which is hidden behind one of these doors randomly. The other two doors each hide a goat. Now, the host asks you to pick a door. You do so, let's assume it's door number 1, it doesn't matter. Anyway, before the host reveals what's behind door number 1, he first opens up door number 2. Behind there is a goat. He now asks you, knowing that door number 2 contained a goat, do you want to switch doors to door number 3? Do you gain any statistical advantage from switching doors?

How is it that when I got bored and started playing with my pant strings, I ended up in bondage?
Should I go ask Alice?
Which of these Touhou song titles is better, Sunshine Catshine, Song for the Cruelty of the Hell of the Sixty Year Flowers of Sin, You Should Drink Cucumber Flavored Beer, or Voyage 1.97x10^-34?
Should I lick a boot?

It's a classic math problem that's been around for FAR longer than that god-awful movie.

Actually, it's from the old game show "Let's Make a Deal." It's called the Monty Hall problem, named after its host, and now I've gone and ruined the whole thing as Trennicus will just google the answer now that she has the name.

EDIT: Here's a new riddle for you.

You are given 50 black pearls and 50 white pearls. There are two identical boxes as well. You are instructed to place the pearls in the boxes in any manner you wish. You could put 50 black in one box and 50 white in the other, or all 100 in one box and none in the other, 47 white and 28 black in one box and 3 white and 22 black in the other, or any other possible arrangement of the pearls. When you are finished, the boxes will be closed, shuffled around randomly so you don't know which is which, and you will reach into one of the boxes randomly and pull out a random pearl blindly. Your goal is to pull out a white pearl. How do you arrange the pearls so as to maximize your chances?

Sneak a white pearl into your sleeve.

Steal the boxes. Do you have any idea how much 100 black and white pearls would pay for?!

Alternatively:
Use Google. Because, once again, it has seemingly not occurred to you to change the variable names when you copy-pasted the problem!

I read about that Monty Hall problem and it confused me at first, but then I realized how it works and now I feel like an idiot for not getting it at first.

I didn't copy/paste. This is from a book I read ages ago, and I'm paraphrasing to the best of my memory. I was always into puzzles. They're my compulsion.

Also, I'm still not seeing an answer here.
