Also because of this:
Evidence has emerged that Warren Spector's Junction Point Studios is working on a game codenamed "Epic Mickey" for the Wii, offering a dark, steampunk-style take on Mickey Mouse and the Magic Kingdom.
Most of the evidence comes from the rumour-hunter's faithful friend - concept artists' websites - and appears to...
Meanwhile, a poster on the NeoGAF forum has found...
Color me skeptical.
it maybe shenanigans, but daisies if it doesn't look cool.

Propaganda or not, those are incredible images. I don't know if this is really going to happen, but if it does, it could really be a great thing for the Wii.

Well, someone went to the trouble of drawing all that. It's all pretty good.

Unfortunately, even if that concept art is real, Disney would never allow it to happen. From what I've heard, Disney is really stingy about how their characters can be used. Chances are, the final product will be much less interesting and probably suck.

It's a shame, too, because that concept art looks really good.

Right, so... despite that the entire article is about a dark, surreal game... Spencer kept mentioning a very cartoony game. And the only actual thing to suggest otherwise is concept art from... people who, so far, haven't any known ties with either company.

Cmon, guys, this is not rocket science!
Heck, the fact that Disney would approve of such a thing is hardly conceivable! They are not the company that thinks that if previous readers grew up with one of their IPs, they should make it Rated M for when the old viewers are the same age instead of trying to appeal to the next generation of kids (I'm looking at you, Marvel/DC).

That's why I think that this is too good to be true. Sure, it looks fantastic, but at the same time, I don't see how this fits into Disney's public image. I doubt that they want their bright, cheery, upbeat (and perhaps a bit racist) characters associated with some gloomy and gritty game. It just seems contradictory to their efforts of marketing their characters to children.

Look... just don't bring console bias into threads not specifically about consoles. It always makes you look bad and generally isn't welcome.
