They're already doing that. It's Mystery Dungeon for WiiWare.spongedav wrote: Or a game not on a gameboy and that you ARE the pokemon. RPG style.

What's wrong the turn-based gameplay? Are these games not allowed to have sequels?Guido64380 wrote:If they were to make some action/platformer/rpg (mario/zelda/ToS or something) mix over the turn based RPG they've been using I'd show some interest in the series again. I find it dissapointing that the best they've done in making something with a different control scheme is mystery dungeon.
Edit: Eh, not crocker-y enough to warrant a /chris crocker. !!! and so forth taken out.

All I did was train a team and move through he story, defeating the evil organization and getting the badges, eventually getting to the Elite Four. After I beat them, I just stop. All that stupid EV/IV crap I didn't care about. I would much rather have a full 3D version of the normal games, not that Gale of Darkness crap from a few years ago. It would be a good way to breathe life back into the series.
Burn 'em to shreds, tear 'em to ashes.
You hav no luv for the post-game areas?BurntToShreds wrote:All I did was train a team and move through he story, defeating the evil organization and getting the badges, eventually getting to the Elite Four. After I beat them, I just stop.
That.... would cost a HUGE amount of cheddar and wouldn't be able to be on a handheld, which is what the Pokemon games are. Short answer: that's not gonna happen. Long answer: that's SERIOUSLY not gonna happen!BurntToShreds wrote:I would much rather have a full 3D version of the normal games, not that Gale of Darkness crap from a few years ago.

I think pokemon might die in a few years. Sure the popularity of it won't fade for maybe a decade or more, but with the creators not wanting to remake the Jhoto games, them spamming out legendaries like there's no tomorrow, (and for pokemon there might not be if they keep doing it) and regions taken from actual places in Japan running out, they may run out of ideas for more complete pokemon games soon. I can't help but remember when in the begining of the Celebi pokemon movie the narator said while showing Suicune jump down a mountain side, "for every pokemon discovered there are thousands more." (not sure exactly what he said but I think thats basically what was said) and I can't help but wonder if they are trying too hard to uphold that promise.
EDIT: sorry to add more to this eyesore of text, but if you think about it, having so many legendaries sorta takes away on the name. Having a few makes it sound special, but having a lot makes it just sound like any pokemon that for some reason is only in one place in the world can be called a legendary. again sorry for all the text.
