I guarantee that Pokemon will stay around as long as gamefreak can get cheddar from it.

And there are millions of different animals that Pokemon can be based off, not to mention plants, inanimate objects, etc.

Not to mention all the remakes they can develop. In a couple of years we can expect a Ruby/Sapphire remake.

It's quite interesting how not many of the grass type Pokemon are actually based on plants.
Or fungi. It comes into question how Pokemon like Venusaur work and live. Same domain but different kingdoms. It's mind boggling.

EDIT: I lost the game.
Actually, a bird of paradise pokemon would be quite nice. The closest to being one in design would be Ho-Oh, though it wasn't based off of one. It would work well with the gender differences, as few are actually easily recognized.
Chatot was a bit musically based. Its tail is a metronome and its head, including the crest, forms an eighth note. I believe the feathers around the neck form a collar.
Though no, its theme does not revolve around looking like a musical instrument, like say, a piano. Chatot does not look like a piano.

Unless it suddenly stops selling anymore, I doubt Nintendo/GameFreak/Creatures Inc. will give up on the Cockfighting Society Franchise.

The game mechanics don't need to change at all.

The reason I buy new games is for the new Pokemon. I want to train them and learn how to use them and see how they evolve and make them the best they can be and shiz. That's the reason I play Pokemon - not for the gym leaders or story or whatever.

Pokemon ends when they make double element moves, example being.......what. Iceflame? (That's Ice / Fire in one move if you didn't catch on).

The reason Pokemon is so successful isn't because of its story, setting, premise, or character design. It's successful because its huge attention to detail.

For example, pick a random Pokemon. Lets say Masquerain.
Image
It can learn 65 moves altogether in Gen4! NOT including moves it could learn until it evolved into a Masquerain OR moves it could learn in Generation 3.

And there's 493 different Pokemon altogether!

To put it simply, unless a person is going for a standard competitive play team, or is using only legendaries, it is HIGHLY unlikely to have two teams exactly alike!

This post is somehow making me hate you less.

Pokemon is not going to disappear for a while, I promise you. As long as Nintendo is still making a profit, and as long as people are still buying the games, then they'd have no reason to end it as long as the games were getting bought off the shelves.

Just because you aren't a fan of the games doesn't mean they're going to disappear. I, for one, happen to love them and grew up on them. So if you don't like it, keep your head high and move on.

I wish the Pokemon games would embrace the Double Battle more than they have.

In a game which has added countless innovations, most of which were utter crap (I'm looking at you Contests), Double Battles were the one that stands out as making the game better for being there.

...

Also, I wonder what will follow up Arceus? I mean, you bodaciously captured the creator of the universe. It's kinda hard to one-up that one.

...

I also wish they'd go back to the first game, where the villains were actually competent. Bring back Team Rocket, the original PokeMafia! Not that moronic Team Rocket from the TV show :x

I LIKED Contests.

But yeah, only the secondary series (console series; I like to call them the secondary series because they're not part of the main series, but they're not spin-offs either.) used Double Battles for regular battles, or in the case of PBR, at least made half the game Double Battles.

Well, in terms of movies, Ho-oh and Lugia.
They made a teaser trailer for the 13th movie before the 12th was even out!

I'm... sorry, you seem to have been thinking of a completely different game. The first game had the LEAST competent mafia force!
I mean, sure, Team Galaxy has idiotic mooks left right and center, but the head men were really competent and knew how to properly use the lower-level guys!

Well alright, maybe Team Magma was worse. What was their plan about thinking erupting a volcano would make more land again?

Okay let's think about what Team Rocket did. They had a inhumane genetics program, which resulted in the creation of Mewtwo. They ran a casino that they used to fund their operations.

They took control of an entire city, the CAPITAL city of the nation, and bent it to their will. They instructed Silph Co to manufacture weapons for them, that they were going to use to extort the country for massive amounts of cheddar and power.

They were around 50% Mafia, 50% Terrorist group. And they were daisies good terrorists.

...

I don't even remember what Team Galaxy did... It was um, like, a few random buildings which had their NAME on it no less, then something happened and they summoned a god. I will give Team Galaxy credit for controlling the media, and making the average people think they were the good guys.
I'm not soulless. I have plenty of souls. They're just not mine.
