My nephew is in the emergency room with Bell's Palsy. Half of his face is paralyzed.

He's five years old.

There are no known causes of Bell's Palsy.

With treatment symptoms usually clear fully - usually.
Treatment starts to have noticable effect around 2 weeks in, and symptoms are usually cleared within 6 months.

There is a lot of unspecific uncertainty in the Wikipedia article.

If it makes you feel any better, my dad had Bell's Palsy several years ago and he recovered fully.

They took three blood samples and had to send them away for testing. Results in 2-4 days, until then they have ABSOLUTELY no idea what happened.

Next week I'm taking a week long break from work to try and lighten my stress, and depression, and hopefully get myself back to a more stable emotional state.

Does anyone have recommendations of activities? I know going outside for a walk will help (and I plan on doing some of that), but does anyone else have helpful ideas?
