Find or Die VI: Die Free or Find Hard MARCATO WINS

Post by Galaxy Man »

Welcome to Find or Die VI. The one that won't be about video games.

So read this whole post.

Now, what else is there, you ask? Books? Movies?

Well we're gonna find out.

See that poll up there? After ten people have joined, I will pick the highest voted option and use it. What you're voting for is if you want books or movies to have heads or tails on the coin I flip. Wherever that coin lands is what we use. Either media will have different rules.

The standard rules we will use are this:
Every round, I will post a requirement.
This requirement must be met by any character you play.

Every round, there will be a turn order. You must play during your turn. If you play before, you're eliminated.
You have 24 hours from the last turn to post your play. Take longer, by even a minute, and you're eliminated.

The potential specialized rules are:

Movies will let you pick one character from a movie to play, but it will mean that not only will nobody be able to use that movie series, but nobody will be able to use that actor.

Books will have you pick not a character, but the whole book. The requirements will be focused on what the entire book contains, not a single character. This will remove the entire book series from play.

Sign up if you want to play. I will only be taking in 10 people max, and the game will start once all 10 have signed up.

Ya'll ready?

Yeah I'll go for this.

The book thing seems unnecessarily harsh though. None of the other media have it focusing on an entire movie or episode, just the character. Don't see why it should be changed just for books.
Stuff goes here later.

It's not really different, because even if you play a character from a book, then the whole book and the series is fucked. The difference is just what kind of criteria will be used. Trying to change it up a bit.

There is a huge difference between a character being played who matches the attributes and having to match said attributes to an entire book. Especially when the criteria is a "does not have" type. Let's say it's "Does not use magic." With character rules I could say Lieutenant Murphy from the Dresden Files. With book rules the entire series would be ruled out, even with characters who fit.

Except I wouldn't use "Does not use magic". The requirements would be either about genre or the story as a whole.
