Autism is a disorder of neural development characterized by impaired social interaction and communication, and by restricted and repetitive behavior. These signs all begin before a child is three years old.[2] Autism affects information processing in the brain by altering how nerve cells and their synapses connect and organize; how this occurs is not well understood.[3] It is one of three recognized disorders in the autism spectrum (ASDs), the other two being Asperger syndrome, which lacks delays in cognitive development and language, and Pervasive Developmental Disorder-Not Otherwise Specified (commonly abbreviated as PDD-NOS), which is diagnosed when the full set of criteria for autism or Asperger syndrome are not met.[4]
Thanks wikipedia.

I was under the impression that the two were actually more or less the same thing. Chris was probably diagnosed with autism, and by probably I meant we don't know for sure because his father locked up the diagnosis in his private file cabinet and keeps the keys on him at all times. Most just act as if he has Aspergers because it makes him angry.

They sorta are if the wiki gods are to be believed. From what I've heard and seen it's moderate autism. But I am not a doctor.
I am a spy

Autism and Asperger's were originally categorized as two separate forms of mental disorders, but are now considered related (under Autism Spectrum Disorders, or ASD) due to similarities.
Basically, people with Asperger's have normal (or sometimes above) level intelligence, but have difficulties with social skills, such as frequent lack of eye contact with others, and recognizing subtle cues in body language. This is often seen as "having a lack of empathy", but this is not true; people with Asperger's can care about others just as much as regular people, it's just they can have difficulty showing care, even when they truly want to show it.
Autism and Asperger's are related, but are not the same thing. Also, neither are a direct cause of negative behaviors.
All forms of ASD are still not fully understood, and it shouldn't be assumed that all people with any form are the same.
...And I've managed to make myself sound like a textbook.

I don't consider myself a big expert, and I don't know if I've managed to help clear any confusion, but I hope I've helped in some way. I just don't like seeing misconceptions about Asperger's or Autism.

Some people say Aspergers is a high-functioning form of Autism, but nobody can really agree. Aspergers are the shy types with strange obsessive interests. I.E., me. :V
Chris is not an Asperger. He'd probably produce GOOD shit if he had Aspergers and not Autism.

Isn't it a common misconception that Aspergers are always extremely talented in one thing?
The so-called savants or something.

Generally, yes. However, people with Asperger's can have a particularly strong area of skill due to having a strong focus on said skill, but that's not the same as being a savant. That's just doing pure hard work.

Ah, that's interesting (the strong focus on one area part). Thanks.

Some famous Aspies I'm sure you have heard of:
Thomas Jefferson
Andy Warhol
Herman Melville
Alfred Kinsey
Isaac Newton
Albert Einstein
And my favorite:
Satoshi Tajiri
Not all Aspies are grand achievers, since, like everything, the strength and effects of Asperger's Syndrome can very greatly.
Chris is just an autistic superdick.

It's theorized that those people
may have had Asperger's; it can't be confirmed if they did or didn't have it.

Well, yeah, but all signs are pointing towards them having had it based on social interactions and private interests.
If you try and look up modern Aspies all you get is Bill Gates (maybe, most likely) and some actors and musicians I have never heard of.

[Citation Needed] indeed.
Anyways, It doesnt really matter what Chris is in the great scope of things. He's still a racist, homophobic with homosexual tendencies, plagiarist, unsanitary, unfit, and an artistically/socially challenged person with Autism as an added bonus.

True.
As much as I hope that they did have Asperger's, I still think of them as "possible Aspies". But man, as someone who has it, I really would love it if it was confirmed.

My little brother likes to make fun of me and call me a booty-pie or a booty-burger.

*Ponders what lysbexic is*
Hmmm....I wonder...how do you confirm if somebody has Aspergers?
