Western Cartoons/Comics
Re: Western Cartoons/Comics
Ohh yeah I remember that thing. I wasn't a big fan.
I liked Pipi Longstocking.
And Donald Duck comics. Oh god those Donald Duck comics. I want one. Now. Should I go out and buy one now? Hmmm.

I read an issue of The Boys on /co/, talk about dark. Pretty good though. It's about a world where all superheroes get corrupted by their powers, not caring about the lives of normal people any more. So a bunch of normal guys go around brutally murdering them for vengeance.
Re: Western Cartoons/Comics
Fuck, that's close to the premise of a story I wrote a couple chapters for. Only the corrupted heroes get tired of saving the world's booty every day so they break it themselves and rule over the pieces in a dystopic society.
Stuff goes here later.
Re: Western Cartoons/Comics
Ah well, that's slightly different then, I only read one issue in the midst of the series but it seems the supes had to answer to some shady organization that used the supes to do religous fundraisers and stuff like that. But it's all quite complicated so idk.

Re: Western Cartoons/Comics
I saw some more of the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon the other day and it changed my opinion on it. No, the cartoon doesn't follow Miles Morales; instead, it follows Spider-Man as he fights crime in New York City while Nick Fury joins him up with a team of superheroes his same age. It sounds interesting, but here's what it's got against it:
-Spider-Man usually only teams up with people on very special occasions. He's usually a solo hero.
-It's full of idiotic cut-away gags that would make Seth MacFarlane cringe. It is way too childish.
-Jeff Loeb is the executive producer. He was responsible for Ultimatum, which is widely recognized as one of the worst comic book series in a long, long time. You can't expect anything good from a person who created that.
I can't believe they cancelled Spectacular Spider-Man to produce this pile of shit. Spectacular Spider-Man was able to balance Spidey's wit with actual maturity and good writing.

It was an idiotic idea for an idiotic miniseries. Like I said, Ultimatum was one of the worst series in recent memory.

It's pretty much the final nail in the Ultimate universe's coffin. Ultimates 3 was nothing too be pop flyin' about either.

The only thing the Ultimate Universe has going for it now is Ultimate Spider-Man, and it's pretty daisies good. I hate their style for the covers, though.
