For some reason I always thought it would be awesome to see an entirely different stand alone film based off characters far away from the whole Luke/Vader conflict. Living on the edge of the war and just trying to live another day while dealing with their own threats.
Toss in a cameo appearance by Han Solo at the end saying "He's on his way to make the Kessel Run" which can be another prelude to the original trilogy or something.
I just think the only way we can remove the bad taste out of our mouthes of the prequel trilogy is to just have an entirely new setting and cast of characters who might run into characters from the original trilogy before all those events triggered or even during but have no actual substantial interaction.

A Yuhzon Vong Wars Trilogy would be dark and gritty and amazing.
Or some movies based around the Legacy comics, not quite as dark and whatnot, but still pretty good.

I'd love to see another director take a crack at the Star Wars Mythos. Something along TLK's Idea, like Republic Commando, familiar setting but totally different tone.
I saw Shutter Island the other day. I enjoyed it. I guessed most of the ending right off the bat, but the way they pulled it off was pretty satisfying. Visually I liked it a lot, I thought the color in everything was great.
