Re: Movies
I hate that as well. Falling Skies is a huge example of that trope. Introduction flat out says "The aliens killed off all of Earth's military forces, so now the parents are fighting." Excuse me, what the fuck?Madican wrote: Because the military in the movie is absolutely incompetent. No really.
Always irks me when that trope gets put into play.
Then there's Dead Space with the most horrible example. "Alright, the SS Valor picked up that one escape shuttle that Hammond sent out, had maybe one slasher. Wait, it killed every single crew member on there and converted them? And I'm just an engineer with no combat experience tooling around? The fuck?"

Fixed. I don't know how anyone could enjoy the Silent Hill movie, but I just wanted to make that clear in case.HisanTakura wrote:Session 9

Re: Movies
Finally got to see Captain America. So good. Probably one of the best comic book movies in recent years. It got the taste of the Green Lantern movie out of my mouth, which is huge points at any rate.
Also, holy shit The Avengers holy shit i forgot Jeremy Renner was Hawkeye, holy shit

Re: Movies
My only "problem" with it, I guess, is that the good ol' Captain had pretty much no character development. But whatever. As a friend of mine told me, he beats people up. With a shield. For America.MakingLoveWithMyEgo wrote:Finally got to see Captain America. So good. Probably one of the best comic book movies in recent years. Re: Movies
I went to go see Planet of the Apes.
It was goofy, but good. For the most part I had no problem getting into it, but every so often I just had to laugh and say "These are fucking monkeys!" But overall it was fun an enjoyable.
Also when the fucking monkey started talking I had to cringe. I knew it had to be in there at some point but holy shit

Re: Movies
My friend's family (family friends? whatever) went to go see Cowboys and Aliens. They invited me but I turned them down on the grounds that it looks like the stupidest movie ever. I feel kinda bad for not going with them but eh, I'll hang out with them tomorrow.
I'm just stubbornly sticking to the very first opinion I had when I heard of the movie. I GOTTA STICK TO MY GUNS, MAN
.........is it any good?

Re: Movies
You have to go see it. As stupid as it may seem, it's going to be stupid and fun.
Re: Movies
I need to see it, but I've heard positive things about it.

So I bought Hobo with a Shotgun on a whim today. I was not disappointed. Laughed my booty off the whole movie. Well worth the cheddar.

Re: Movies
I watched Problem Child and Problem Child II yesterday. That right there is childhood. I used to get up every single weekend and scan through every channel until I could hopefully find it.
My god was that kid a terrible actor.
Poor John Ritter though. I had completely forgotten he was dead.
