Sorry, I was responding to the part of you not paying attention to it, not saying your review was inherently wrong. It's one of my favorites, and it's got so many little bits crammed into the movie that part of the joy of it is paying attention to everything. I'd recommend giving it a second go personally.

Of course, playing Pokemon is never truly a mistake

Post by Rinoko »

Oh, haha, yeah, I definitely will. It's just that we put it in and I'd never heard of it before, so I was just like "Oh, some zambo movie, whatever, Pokemon time", and then I found out later that everyone loves it and I was like "Well, shoot".

I saw Gravity yesterday and loved it. Neil Degrasse Tyson needs to calm down about the scientific accuracy of the movie and just enjoy it, though. He's been talking about it on Twitter quite a lot. Definitely wouldn't want to go see something like The Hobbit with him, that's for sure. Even Chris Hadfield, an actual astronaut, understands that artistic liberties had to be taken for the sake of the story. He was at the premiere of the show and came up and answered a question (at around 12:35 on the video):
Burn 'em to shreds, tear 'em to ashes.

Yeah, Shaun of the Dead is a movie about details. I watch it every year (strangely it seems to be an Easter tradition in my family), and I still find new things and dialogue I've overlooked.

You gotta kinda pay attention to it, and it's not always action packed, but the sheer concentration of shit going on in the movie makes it great.

@Burnt, I don't generally like Tyson when he gets into controversies like this because I think it brings out the worst in him, but I got to agree. When they're making a disaster movie that's supposed to be based on real occurrences, it's annoying when they gloss over things like fundamental laws of physics and science for the cool factor.

It's like The Core and The Day After Tomorrow. The intent is honorable, but the result just makes the viewing audience buy into false pretenses.

Oh God damnit, is he really becoming "that guy"? It's one thing to joke about movie inaccuracies with friends, but really no one likes that douche who is just going to be like "THAT wouldn't happen!" every 5 seconds. I thought he was so cool to.

I JUST WALKED IN AND IT WAS LIKE HALFWAY OVER. THE WHOLE TIME i WAS THINKING ABOUT THAT!
I feel bad judging it while not having seen the whole thing, but I really doubt anything would justify that second half.

Just saw Gravity. My suspension of disbelief was broken once and the movie fixed it almost immediately after. Great fucking movie.

Can somebody tell Tarantino that "deconstructing" something doesnt mean that you just do the thing you're allegedly deconstructing and then act shocked when people who likes violent movies like your violent movies?
