What if she came into being at the same time as humans. She only exists as long as we do. So she's younger because humans are still growing, and she'll get older as we die out.

That's actually really sad. All along people only wanted him to get better at his work, and now he just up and quits? I mean sure, there was an assload of haters and generally mean people, but he just caves into criticism like this without even trying to understand what was wrong?

I guess he never learned.

I'm curious, did he cite the criticism as the reason that he was quitting, or was it something unrelated like a busy work schedule or just plain lethargy?

Straight from the sauce

So here’s what’s going on. Brentalfloss will continue, because I actually like doing those, and the current Alex Ze Pirate story will play out, because its 2 years old and is already finished.

But outside that I just can’t work anymore. It’s a testament to the seething hate that surrounds me that this will inevitably be seen as whining, but I don’t know what else to say or do. This has gone on for so long I just can’t do it anymore. There is no joy making cartoons and comics for me, and nothing I do will ever be good enough.

I know I have a lot of fans but this goes beyond just being a little depressed. I’ve lost the ability to appreciate those who genuinely want to help me, and can focus on nothing but the hatred. It’s really bad and I need it to stop.

Thinking about all this right now is already making me sick so I’m gonna wrap this up. Brentalfloss will keep going but outside that I won’t be producing anything new for a long long time.

Congratulations, douchebags. You won. Now leave me alone.
