The purple light in XKCD frightens me. What would be my reaction if I was driving and suddenly saw a color that wasn't supposed to be there? I spend most of my time driving coming up with new irrational fears of accidentally breaking a traffic law as it is.

Oh man, I hope this means he built up a few buffer pages. He's had almost a year between the start of the Kickstarter and now, and there's only two pages left before the end of the chapter.

Jones...did you plot that breakup? And was it because you wanted Eglamore...or were you after something else?
Jones is not a robot, but that is some poker face.

That eggman comic was pretty neat
I love it when people do that
they usually do comedy but then they do something serious
and I think that's really rad

Ageless...this enters a realm of questionable pederasty that makes me uncomfortable.
I've sent in two questions to XKCD's What-If. How fast could a mutant like Wolverine conceivably heal while obeying the laws of physics? How structurally sound would an actual city of gold be?
I realize that the answer to the second is "not very", but the thought process would be intriguing.

How fast could a mutant like Wolverine conceivably heal while obeying the laws of physics
Now that's actually very interesting. If we assume that Wolverine can take in enough energy and nutrients to sustain any rate of healing (which will probably end up with him constantly eating, also hilarious), what would be the limiting factor? Rate of cell division and growth? Let's also assume that he can migrate stem cells throughout his body in case any type of tissue cell disappears completely and that he can supply the factors to change those stem cells appropriately. We could do a rough estimation of how many cell divisions it typically takes to cause cancer, or we could assume wolvie has perfect division, so no genetic errors/further mutations. In that case, we still have the problem of getting nutrients and energy to the dividing cells though, so any damage to the blood circuit would be problematic. Perhaps all his cells can transport energy and nutrients to each other at a fast pace, although that is stretching my imagination a bit thin. Still, it would seem that the rate of healing is limited by transportation speed of building blocks, cell division speed and cell growth speed. How big those could get would require a closer look at those processes, but I'd imagine the enzymes and proteins in a cell can only work so fast.

Adding in photosynthesis would reduce his need to eat, but it would probably require a shitton of other adjustments to work effectively, besides making Logan green.

I always liked it when the writer took some basic physics into account when showing Logan's healing factor. When all the flesh was disintegrated off his arm in a Whedon comic, it quickly became covered in skin, but the muscle mass was almost nonexistent. He later was shown meditating and resting to build his strength back up. When other people do it, they'll show everything except his brain being destroyed and him getting back up. Kills the suspension of belief because where is that stuff coming from? The movies did a fairly good job. When his healing factor gets borrowed by Rogue his wounds start reopening, suggesting that they were just barely held together and not fully healed.
