Super hype is going on in me right now. I am so stoked for this.

Two weeks till it's released. Going to be the longest two weeks I've suffered in a while.

After all these years I still get a fan-boner for the Chief.

I don't know. I've bought/got 2, 3, ODST and Reach all on release day/week and I'm not really feeling it for 4.

Is it because it's by a different studio, you think? You just don't feel like it'll live up to Bungie's standards?

If I decided to buy it, I'd have to buy it soon after launch since my Live sub ends in February and I don't have plans of continuing it. It's not that I don't think it'll be a good game but I feel like I've kinda moved on from dedicating time to console shooters. Plus my friend has it preordered and I could play it with him before I make any decisions.
One thing that I know has moved me away from the game is how terribly it has been marketed. Pretty much everything they've done to promote the game has felt like a desperate attempt to make CoD kids buy this instead of BLOPS 2. See my rant about the multiplayer trailer a few pages back.

The people who are marketing the game and the people who are playing the game are two separate entities. I don't think 343 has any say in the actual advertising. And if you feel so bad about a bunch of children playing it, then you can always mute them.

Also Malum, the reason that the Chief sounds different is because he is being voiced by the guy who is in the suit, Daniel Cudmore. I guess it would actually make sense for him to sound different story-wise as well because this takes place 20-30 years ago.

Malum wrote:Jesus christ it's just a song in a trailer, that a fan made. If it really even matters, Forward Unto Dawn should more than make up for that.
That was just one thing.

And I didn't claim their marketing was THE reason I'm not interested enough in this game to buy it day one. I just haven't been excited for it in general. As opposed to something like Halo 3 which I was so excited for I got my dad to buy me a 360 just to play it.

I almost never get a game on the day of launch, and this won't be an exception. I'll get it for Christmas.

I think the only games I got on launch were Brawl and Borderlands 2.

I'd love to join, but my Live subscription ran out a month ago.

I might have a 2-day pass lying around...
