Whenever a BP invades my world, I hide and get a sneak attack on their booty and then run the hell away. I repeat this until they die or more likely leave my world.

so do you glow to the BP? or what ive never been one before, i assumed you glowed back to them as they glow red

Up until a certain range your invisible to them. So if I get invaded by one I equip the ring and then run away. They don't know where I am, so I just use powerful magic like Soulray or Fireball and then run away. When you are in the range where you can be seen by the BP, your mid-section can be slightly be seen. If you really want to be safe learn cloak as an extra precaution.
