It kind of felt like a boss from Shadow of the Colossus in that way. I turned its soul into the Spear of Astor since I'm a spear guy and I can't wait to find upgrade materials for it to make it better than the basic spear I got at the beginning of the game.
ooh you are gonna have fun with a later boss

... actually only two bosses later, if i remember correctly. he's coming up. you'll have a blast.

i am not a huge fan of puzzle bosses but besides one notable one in the optional-end-game, the ones here are pretty well done

After reading up a bit apparently an Int build isn't very simple at the start.
Maybe a Pyromancy build instead?
Never used Pyromancy at all before.
Wonder what it plays like.
I'm gonna go set fire to undead.

And since Pyromancy runs off both Int and Faith I can always try a few sorceries later in the game.

Edit: being a pyromancer is so fun.
I can weaken stronger enemies at a distance and finish them off with my axe.
The first and second bosses went down first try. Lobbing fireballs is helpful because it gives me time to react to attacks and a bunch of the time enemies just slowly walk to you while you're melting their faces off.

Top is my first character.
Bottom is my second.
(PS I decided to do a Knight run instead of that Pyromancer.)

Also back when I was complaining about an earlier game boss. Crystal Sage.
I just did this on my second character.

NPC spoilers.
Killing the giants before Patches drops the bridge is hilarious.

Edit: My PS4 controller ran out of charge. The first time this happened and of course it's on Dark Souls.
Luckily I had just beaten the boss I was fighting.
Could've been much worse.

Also about smouldering lake.
This kinda sounds weird but I feel sad about all the dead demons lying about everywhere, mostly the Capra Demons.
Demons should be the last recipient of my sympathy but, I don't know, seeing them all lying there makes me sad.

So I decided I was very unhappy with my first playthrough and started over as a Herald. Since unstable framerates make timing-based things tedious, I decided to camp out in front of the Abyss Watchers in the woods until my brother finally comes through with that new graphics card.

Since I can't do much else for the time being, I've been pouring every effort into Fashion Souls.

I'm quite pop flyin' with this current look.

Well I found something helpful for me.
Pontiff Sulyvahn.
I've been doing Yuria's questline so I have the Londor Pale Shade available to Summon.
I summoned her and then stood over Gotthards Summon sign.
I summoned both Pale Shade and Gotthard to the Sulyvahn fight.
It was glorious.

Edit:
concerning the Dragon Form.
I hate how skinny it is. Like, geez there are hollows with more meat on them. This dragon form looks like it hasn't eaten in a decade.
I want to be a big powerful dragon. Not a lizard that looks like it'll snap in half.

Edit:
Well my second playthrough went far better than my first.
I died to only 3 bosses.
Vordt, Greatwood and Sulyvahn.
Didn't bother fighting Nameless King. So you can count it as 4 if you want. :p
Though to be fair about Vordt, though he killed me at first, my second fight I beat him without getting touched once by him.

Did every questline and got the Usurpation of Fire ending.

Also here's my Knight at the end of that run.

i forget where i found it but if you can, find the blessed small red/white shield. the constant healing effect is small, but really noticable and helps when you are passively exploring an area or fighting something you can not block and just have it on your back

Yeah, Blessed infused weapons and shields do that, though thanks to Bloodborne affecting the way I play I'm not one for waiting around. :p
They also deal more damage to undead things like Skeletons.

On the other end, Simple infused weapons restore your FP, even if it's a shield, so pick your favourite infusable shield, stick Simple on it. Use full power Weapon Skills at any time.

Also now doing a sorcerer run. (I am enjoying this game much more than expected.)
Saw a video fighting that boss I never beat with Sorcery and he looked darn easy.
I will beat that boss. Even if I have to take the easy way.

dark sword

how can you even consider a single run where you pick that up a success, your character is gonna die anyway because of the pure cancer

The undead don't worry about dying. They did that already.
