Alternate Step One: Have someone teach you how to play!

There's someone. I think his name is ZenithofChaos. He's lurking around the thread a lot and seems to know his shit.
From what I can see watching a live game right now it looks like starcraft a lot. I sucked at starcraft.

If you play a micro-intensive hero, it can be. However, they have an option to let all allies control your units, which makes it a lot easier. Most heroes aren't micro-intensive.

I want to play this game... I have had it for a while...but ugh... It feels so different from LoL for some reason I can't get comfortable playing it.

I played once before repeatedly getting yelled at to get the fuck out. I have not touched it since and have in fact uninstalled it.

The DotA community is filled with insensitive try-hards. It's best to avoid anything except for co-op versus AI when you first start out.

Three people leave the game. No problem, bro. Archie carries me to victory against five opponents! He's unstoppabopaboppable!

So there was an interview that revealed some of DOTA's shopping schedule
The biggest revelation is that the entire roster will be available at ALL TIMES. No rotating hero pool, and no buying heroes.
There will be plenty of cosmetic items but they will have no effect on gameplay whatsoever.
There will be alternate game modes available. Dota Tower Defense is one of them.
Matchmaking says Sing Sing is the best player in DOTA. Dendi disagrees.
