I thought Lamarr was adorable hanging on to Kleiners torso.

my gravity gun run went something like
"oh hey this is actually pretty easy"
"here comes the fast zombie ambush, better hole up in this room with some ammo"
"OH FUCK OH FUCK THEY WON'T DIE WHY WON'T THEY DIE"

the remainder was me beating one to death with a health kit

and then running

just fucking running

I have never played any of the Half-Life games. Does this make me a bad person?

the HL2 games are fun for 1 playthrough imo. But HL2 was huge in its time and it played a large role in video game history, so it's worth playing, but I wouldn't hold it against a person if he just never bothered. Same for its expansions, but less of the "important history" stuff

I find HL1 a lot more replayable and fun. Really one of my favorite games. Until a certain point, about where you get a weapon called the hivehand. That's where it becomes a slow sack of miserable drudgery and tedium. But everything before that point makes it overall a great game. Far superior to HL2. The Opposing Force expansion is non-stop gun fighting and I played the whole thing hoping something new would eventually happened. I only finished it to get its portion of the HL story. Blue Shift is alright. Very short but enjoyable. I haven't played Decay yet.

did you ask me for a summary of my opinion of the franchise? No, but that's just how me and my hair-triggered text walls work. Sorry about that, I try to restrain myself.

Fun Fact.
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines might've taken Half-Life 2's place in history for being the first game to use the source engine, but Valve made Troika hold back on releasing VtM:B. And then Troika hated Valve. And then Troika went bankrupt.

VtM: Bloodlines was a great game, could've been even greater if they wouldn't have had to rush it.

The company ran out of cheddar so the people were working for free. Rushing probably happened.

I like to go back and play hl2 occasionally, because I find it such a great game. Though it actually sags a bit in the middle.

I've been wanting to replay Half-Life 2 for a while now, but unfortunately I don't have my copy of the Orange Box. It's one of those games where I could play through it three times in one week and still want to play it a little more. My favorite chapter is Highway 17, I really enjoy the environment on the coast.

*reviving old thread*

I got almost all the HL 2 achievements on orange box, but the 'let no building get destroyed in the final strider battle' one is almost impossible, also played through the grub thing 4 times and always miss one..ah and the lambda caches, same story. Even with a list. It's like one of them just doesn't unlock or something :psyduck:
