The point is, even if something is on the disc, if developers want to lock it away and make you pay for it, it's their right. You don't have access to it. It's still the same as regular DLC - you pay for access to something extra. It's not immoral or horrible or what have you, it's just a new business model for gaming companies. If you don't like that kind of things, if you think a company is doing too much of that, don't buy games with DLC or don't buy the DLC. Protest with your wallet.

Then what's stopping them from locking away half the game and forcing you to pay for the rest of it? If you're complacent about this now, it could develop into something worse further down the road.

I'm upset that the game got cancelled but honestly I wasn't looking foreward to it for this very reason. I was going to get hyped and then get all sad when they decided to cancel it. They have their reasons for canceling the game, and I don't believe they said the fault fell on the fans for it's cancellation. Like Le Great Handsome Oppressor said, their a company. And if their a company they would know not to talk shit about their fans, well at least some of them. It'd give them a bad rep. EVen if they did blame us they wouldn't openly say it. Again I think it might have something to do with Infuane leaving, I kind of hope he has the copy rights to MM and picks it up again or something.

They had a niche series (Mega Man Legends, not Mega Man in general) with a niche market, and that game was slated to be on a platform (The 3DS) that is currently ailing in the sales department. They may have seen this, and decided to put their cheddar elsewhere, where they could get a better return on their investment.

Its a vicious cycle then!

Yeah, I have to say MM Legends never came across as a widely popular series, certainly not in the same league as the original or X series.
