Am I the only one who was excited for this game?
Cause Im a fan of the bizzare/insane and this was not a disapointment for this reason
they die
The level design is disgustingly beautiful and the dialogue is well...you will ask what a lot. The voice acting is monotone and the animatics in the cutscenes are awkwardly similar to the old ps2 platformers. The action is pretty strait forward although you fight the same enemys over and over they change up the combinations which makes it not all too repetitive. Its a lot like an old platforming game for the ps2 but with modern graphics. It still has the same feel as the first alice so if you like the first one you need this.
Summary
Pros
- Its not short(took me about 10+ hours)
-Nice writing. Although it sounds like the acting is done by Alan Rickman's family.
-Everyone is mad and insane
-The style is grotesque, gory, and repulsive.
Cons
-Progression through some areas makes no sense.(this game isnt supposed to make sense but this is annoyingly lazy)
-platforming is nostalgic but very repetitive/tedious
-final boss is disappointing
-puzzles are easy as fuck and you can skip them whenever so they dont even matter(where was this in Devil May Cry)
Result
Rent(sorry steam guys)
It's a solid game that will take you down memory lane, and into the connecting alleyway to hell, and back again.
But its nothing you would play through twice unless you want achievements/trophies.

The final boss in the first one was dissapointing too.
I haven't played this new one.
I might buy it if it becomes $30 or something like that.
Not paying another $80 for a game again.

Great concept, but stale platforming and inconsistent texture quality.

I forgot to mention this but If you buy it new for xbawks tree 60 then you get a code to get the first Alice for free.
Or it's just $10. Im sorry but I have no idea what it is for steam.

oh thank god someone made a thread about this.
Personally I think the game is fanominal. The switching bewteen London and Wonderland is awesome, all the diffrent level designs and all the colour and psychoticness of it all, the weaponds and dresses and all the uniqe monster designs and characters.
Its wonderful, its the kind of game I want to make in the future and I enjoy playing it immencilly.

How bought $90 for Fallout new vegas collectors
and $150 for Halo: Reach Legendary
I sold my ps3 for the latter
and willow you are the first ive met to like the game and have nothing negative to say.
So im gonna pick your brain.
Have you beat it?
What is your favorite character/level/weapon so far?
Do you fall head over heels for random nonsense, big words, and plain insanity?
Did you pay full price for it or did you rent/borrow it, or would you pay full price?
How many glitches or lags while playing?
I really want to know.

Gameplay in the first game is lacking, but the music is amazing, especially by comparison to the second. It is, in my opinion, the only thing which Madness Returns didn't improve upon, as its combat, exploration, platforming, and visuals (Beyond graphical quality, of course) are all superior to the original.

Yes I've beat it on NIGHTMARE MODE in my first try.
Cant say a favorite character because I think they are all pretty uniqe in a way, but I like the twist about the Red Queen in the end.
Favorite weapon would be the knife ( cant remember the entire name).
Yes, yes I do fall head over heals for random nonsense, big words and plain insanity.
I borrowed it from a friend.
Oh god the glitches, there are honestly a lot of them but for some reason I can easly ignore them and not though a huge hate fest at the game because of them. Though some can be really annoying like the falling though the floor forever one and having the screen freeze randomly, though that happend to a friend and not me.

Lewis Carroll wrote:..."Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"
He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought-
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.
And as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! and through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.
The Vorpal Blade is Alice's signature weapon. Its only known property is the ability to go "Snicker-Snack" and kill an otherwise resilient Jabberwocky.

I saw the whole "twist" about the queen as soon as i saw her, and the story is so easy to read you can basically figure everything out by the time you get the third key. And that's only half-way through the game!
but anyway I ran though a second time and got all the memories and beat it on nightmare.
Allways use a guide whilst doing this, or else you will end up taking forever back tracking.
heres what i used cause Im an acheivement whore
