Re: Fire Emblem
yeah besides the weird hair going on, it's definitely in the same vein of the FE art style, along with the others

Re: Fire Emblem
Character designs change with the ages. Hell, look at the really old character designs and tell me those would still be appealing to the market today.
Here let us take an easy one.
Here's old Marth design:

Now look at new Marth design:

It's easy to see why they changed the character, or cleaned up if you will, design for the updated release. Most gamers today would be like, "Eww that old design is ugly." And a lot of people buy games based on how good the characters look and how good the game looks.
I'm fine with the new character designs that I've seen. They still feel Fire Emblem-y to me. Have there been weird looking characters in FE games? Yes. And, most of the time, they explain why they look that way.

Re: Fire Emblem
That doesn't look Fire Emblemy. It looks like a really bad anime with that "washed out" style of coloring and annoying faces.Silver_Wolf wrote:-looks up other screen shots-
Fredrick looks fire emblemly to me.
That girl does have some crazy hair though. They do seem to have a more "modern" look than most FE characters, but how long has it been since the last new FE game? Like, 3ish years right?
Also the level up screen is totally not Fire Emblem. You're supposed to see all your stats, not just the upped ones.
Marth isn't different there, just more detailed.Silver_Wolf wrote:Character designs change with the ages. Hell, look at the really old character designs and tell me those would still be appealing to the market today.

Also, drastically changing your art is a good way to royally piss off your loyal fanbase and ensure your game will be a flop.
Fire Emblem had its art perfected with Radiant Dawn, they shouldn't have changed it.

Re: Fire Emblem
it's not drastically changed, though. not at all. i mean there's weird hair but that is really it. frederick and such are definitely FE style.

Fred is pale and vampire-homosexual looking, he is not Fire Emblem.

1) Hence why I stated they "cleaned him up."Vanu Sovereignty wrote: Marth isn't different there, just more detailed.

2) It's not that drastic a change. If anything, they look slightly more "realistic" than the RD designs. I haven't seen any crazy hair colors yet either. I consider myself a pretty loyal fan. Have I played every game in the series, no, but I still enjoy the games.
3) So you want every single FE game character after the Tellius series to look the same. No, that's bullshit. I hate games that do that. It makes the game lose it's identity, and they all just blend together in my mind. The game should have it's own style for it's characters.

Re: Fire Emblem
Quit being a jackass and calm down. The art style is slightly different. It does not make or break a game. It does not make someone "mentally retarded" because they don't want the same shit from before.

I basically said, I like my games to have their own visual identities. I don't want all my games to look the same.
Tellius had it's look. This game has it's look.
