I too miss the good old days. Makes me wish I could bring back the second AZcraft with the big walls. Those were my favourite times.

Re: The Big Ol' Minecraft Thread!
I do miss playing on the various Homestuck servers. Drillgorg's stuff was always the best*, Windwakercraft especially. I built a bedrock level super farm underground that could handle 2x2 jungle trees. We tweaked the terrain generation to match the theme, so it was mostly ocean with well-spaced, small islands sticking out of it. We definitely had the best Nether network we ever built on any of the servers because of that. But I dunno if I'd still enjoy playing vanilla anymore, I love stuff like beekeeping in Forestry, building a power and processing system in Industrialcraft and making amazing tools and armor and all the other conveniences of Equivalent Exchange.
FTB bluescreened my computer back last time I tried it, so I'm personally more partial to Tekkit. Legends especially is pretty much everything I want in a modpack, except for not having Dimensional Doors, and the fact that, while Project E admittedly makes having Modular Powersuits pretty much pointless, the materials required for it in this build are bullshit; When it uses vanilla materials and is mostly made of iron, gold nuggets and redstone, it's *amazing*, one of the best sets of armor you can find in most modpacks, provided you can find the one emerald required to make the crafting table, but I have NO idea what the hell happened with the Legends build's settings for it. Not even the Gregtech version was this insane with the part requirements.
*Edit: Other entertaining variants were the underground server where you couldn't dig to the surface, playing around with the biodome terrain generation mod, a Railcraft-centric map that developed a side-focus in microblocks sculpting, and a voidworld map that we could reach from the other maps and build shit in with all of our extra stuff; I made a world-height-limit sized tower mostly out of slabs and stairs since we'd just had the patch that let you place them upside-down and whatnot. Here's some pics from them.
Without Treecapitator, birch is definitely my favorite type of wood to farm because it will never grow taller than you can reach with your axe as long as you leave the bottom piece of the trunk to stand on. So I farmed up a shitload and made a Deku Tree out of it.

But that server was kinda shit so it got nuked when we changed to a different host. And we build crazy amazing things like the Temple of the Water Goddess.
If you threw an item into the font there, it would trigger some redstone stuff way down below that would cause an item to come out of the water flowing from her mouth, but it would only activate once until the item(s) tossed into the font despawned, so you had to be patient. Trying to dive into the font would just cause you to drown. There were side waterfalls you could swim up and get into hidden rooms that would hint at what you had to do.

Biodomes looked cool, and were very relaxing since it was quite easy to illuminate the entire sphere. The trick was relying on renewable resources, since there were only 49 domes between everyone to potentially mine from.

Microblock funtimes combined with minecraft water physics.

The base of the tower. Each layer used a different slab/stair buildable material; unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the finished piece. It became a race with the person adjacent to me to see who could build higher.

Edit 2: Fuck. I forgot this place doesn't have collapsing spoilers, just blackout spoilers. OH WELL, wall of stuff it is then.

Oh man I loved that server. I've still got a video of the house I made in that Wind Waker sever, hidden underneath a sea platform.
By far my favorite 2 things about the Wind Waker event were that it was before the change to passive mobs to have them be permanent, and they would spawn wherever there was enough light on grass tiles. There weren't many grass tiles, so islands were always fucking flooded with sheep.
The other great thing was that once we moved the server over to a different host, it changed the terrain seed but kept the worldgen changes. Which meant that the biomes were suddenly different, leading to most people's islands being placed squarely in the middle of a gigantic snow biome.
We had to nuke the server to save it from the nuclear winter.

I'm upset that I can't seem to find the backup he gave out of the voidworld. That tower I made was one of the best builds I've ever done. I even pixel arted a bunch of Homestuck-y astrological signs on the four sides, where it transitioned from stone to a double helix slab-stairway spiral of brick. Wish I could remember who had the tower across from mine; It was much bigger in scale, which I never really seem to have the vision for; that's probably why I went the opposite way with the microblock museum on the railcraft server.
I also have the generated map file of Shinmera's old server where I ran the warehouse full of specialized crafting supplies since I was getting tired of /give-ing them to people constantly.

Edit:

Edit:
I don't suppose there's any chance you'll be updating the server to the current patch. I see its still active but its 1.9.1Noffletoff wrote:1.9 is here now, woot. I paid for a server for 3 months for us to play on if anyone is interested.

Re: The Big Ol' Minecraft Thread!
I know someone else took a video of the Moblin tower house from the second version.
Here's another view from the Water Goddess temple.

Someone (I think Superfrequency?) in the corner of my biodomes chicken ranch

The view (from the giant duck shaped tree I grew) of my house on the reset Windwakercraft, with several sheep trapped inside my birch dome. It took FOREVER to find any reeds growing on that server initially.

Also I just remembered the wool farm I had going on the initial Windwakercraft server. At least three sheep of every color. Then someone coaxed a mooshroom across the ocean for my collection. Then some asshole sheared it into a regular cow. :<
Fuck. I think I might have to look into making a server of my own now that we have fancy high-speed internet since I can't find anyone else running one. But that would mean I'd have to learn how. And I'm _super_ lazy.

The 1.9 server seems to be up but I haven't actually run into anyone else yet. Took over an island at 413, 134 just in time for the Homestuck anniversary. It's connected to the nether network and mostly just consists of a massive glass dome enclosing a wheat farm, a birch tree farm, a cactus farm, a couple chickens, and the entire edge of the island is reeds. A small neighboring island is densely covered with an oak tree farm. The house has a nice oak wood dock facing vaguely towards where the other houses are, a small enchanting table with one bookcase, and an Andesite/Diorite/glass lighthouse tower with a brick slab staircase and blazing netherrack for a beacon.

Connected a nether portal under the spawnhouse, plus fancied it up a bunch.

I wouldn't mind a copy of the map just 'cuz I love how my island turned out, but I've been playing the Homestuck servers instead now that they're up since no one else ever seemed to come on to this one.

I'm not sure if it will be possible because of the size of the world.

Ah well. I'll just have to remake it from my screenshots some time when I'm bored. :V

Found this thread, so yeay.
Anywho, 1.10 is in pre-release already?! Well that escalated quickly... Wow the game is now updating really fast... But seriously Minecraft will be at approximately at 1.14 or something in the same amount of time it took to develop the last couple of updates?
Hurrah for Magma Block lamps and stuffs
