I doubt it; it sounds like they're just going with the gamepad. There might be Pro Controller support, but I doubt there'll be Wii Remote or Gamecube support.

tl;dr
Toon Link and Link restore your arrow count
Ganondorf makes you take more damage(If there's going to be a Master Quest then ohohoho fuck man this is gonna be Dark Souls tier.)
Zelda and Sheik heal you.
Wolf Link confirmed to unlock new dungeon called "Cave of Shadows", mostly just a trials sort of thing that is timed.

The arrow-restoring function sounds kinda nice, but I still say the heart-restoring function sounds unnecessary, considering how easy Twilight Princess already was. On the other hand, the hard mode thing sounds interesting…if this makes Twilight Princess actually challenging, I might have to hunt down a Ganondorf amiibo. Cave of Shadows…meh. I was hoping for something a bit more interesting than just a wolf-only version of the Cave of Ordeals. Hopefully, the Wolf Link amiibo will have a more interesting function in the next game.

Playing TPHD, worth it just to play the original/unflipped map. I played TP a LOT back in the day (something like five complete playthroughs) so it's fun challenging myself to remember where everything is.

Though I gotta' say, I kind of miss the Wiimote controls. It was so easy to do spin attacks then. Now I don't think I've used it more than twice.

One thing I will mention is that some of the "vehicle" controls feel kind of weird. Like I keep running Epona into walls because I'm expecting her to turn more, and just today I did the sledding bit and I kept failing it due to the thing not turning how I was expecting it to. (Link kind of turns the whole sled sideways while keeping the forward momentum - realistic I guess, but totally different from how it used to be.)

I'm not sure if it's just me, or if they actually changed things that much. (They did say the remake is based of the GC version and not the Wii one, so maybe the controls just reflect how it was originally? I don't know.)

I'm pretty sure you can play TPHD with Wiimote controls

As someone who has played the GC version, I'm finding it quite harder to ride Epona around. It could just be a memory bias, of course, but I really don't remember having that much trouble going through the bridge at Ordon (ropes catching me - actual ropes, not the snake enemies ;) ).

I actually use spin attack A LOT - I guess I'm just used to doing circle (joystick)+B in Legend of Zelda games. Speaking of which, I found that doing circle while in a jump attack, will trigger a spin attack at landing. Does anyone know if it was in the GC version - I can't check myself, ATM.

Nope; Gamepad and Pro controllers only.

I'm watching gameplay of Twilight Princess HD, and so far it actually looks like a modest HD upgrade, all the textures are cleaner and things look more defined, I'm fine with an HD re-release as long as it just tries to be a re-release, that and getting an original copy of the game is almost as expensive as getting the game itself.

Also since I'm a sucker for Amiibo I guess I gotta get it anyways for that gorgeous Wolf Link.

I think they've done a great job at retexturing, and the little tweaks they've added (gyro controls, additional items, ...) are neat. More challenge for those who seek for some, too, or helps for those who need them (helps only through Amiibo).

The problem with removing the bloom effect, though. I'll just quote Monomirror:
"the low-res hazy, bloomy look gave it a very distinct aesthetic that is gone now"
"instead the clean (sterile?) hi-res look just underlines its shortcomings, the lighting looks ultra flat now"

Hyrule Warriors Legends is great!
The ocarina teleporting and character switching makes the maps much more fun to get around.

Also Linkle is super fun to play as.
She can add on to her combos with either an all around shot if in the air or fire a bomb straight ahead, dragging enemies with it if on the ground.

Edit: Okay this is something I really need to say.
Toon Link. When he wins a battle he does his Victory cutscene just like everyone else.
One thing to take notice of, his laugh.

I swear his laugh is Skull Kid's laugh without its modification.

For those of you playing Hyrule Warriors and/or Hyrule Warriors Legends, Nintendo has announced that Marin from Link's Awakening will be a downloadable character. Nice to see Link's Awakening getting some recognition; would be nice if the Oracle games could get some love too. Playing as Ralph, Onox, Veran, or either of the oracles could be fun.
