And no, they didn't add her because they thought she would be a unique character for a musou, they added her because nearly the entire team had a crush on her.
But no she's totally a meaningful addition guys, look at how much she contributed to the story!
By giving Lana a butterfly after Lana saves her sorry booty, and then doing pretty much fuck all other than fighting like everyone else, which she only did after being told to go back to Kakariko while the grownups fought a war and then made peace against a common enemy. (I mean HW's story in general is kind of lacking but this is just ridiculous)

Contributed more than the DLC characters did to the story. :p

She's a popular side-character with an interesting background to make an odd fighting style with. What more do you need to add them to a Musou game?

Hell. in the story, Princess Ruto has just as much impact as Agitha. I suppose she is also a 'totally meaningful addition guys.'
Her role is to activate the statue if you're playing as Darunia or to be the main keep boss if you play as Zelda.
Otherwise she never even appears in battle at all unless you play as these 2.
Ruto is bodaciously Damsel in Distress #2.

Nevermind the loto game thing.
Sure, the team liked her, but they wouldn't have added her if she didn't have something different. But that something is not for the story. Do you play Musou games for the story? Most people don't, because it's a game where you beat up enemies over and over again. And Agitha's attacks are different from Link or Lana.

I'm pretty sure most Dynasty Warriors games have one playable character that's just outta left field, and wields a parasol. That is (partly) why Agitha is in Hyrule Warriors.

Exactly, which means she isn't "unique" at all
Having different attacks doesn't make her "unique", bodaciously every character has different attacks than the others
They added her because they thought she was cute and wanted a quirky character to fill a slot that exists in every Warriors game

Linkle is so cute but I don't like her name, it's like taking the name Jeff and changing it to Jeffette. If they put like five seconds of thought in I feel like they could have come up with something better.

I assume the Link/Linkle name transformation works better in japanese. Well, I hope it does, otherwise it's really just silly.

or did you forget we knew about this character a year ago

Post by AquaBat »

According to the Hyrule Warriors art book featuring the original concept art for the first game, when they made up the character during the concept stage, she was designed to be like a sister to Link. It's not that unusual to have twin siblings with similar names (and it's even more prevalent in fiction). They probably just decided to keep the same name they came up with when they brought the character back for the new installment. Whether or not she'll have the same relationship to the Hyrule Warriors Link in the game remains to be seen.

Makes sense. I will stand that her giant glowing insects are cool and stuffs, though.

As much as I dislike the "let's add something to Link's name" idea, I agree with a friend who said "I'm just glad it is not Linkette".
Still a bad name, but could be worse.
[EDIT]I forgot to add "not" to "it is not Linkette". :V[/EDIT]

While everyone's talking about Linkle, I think I'll take this opportunity to remind everyone of this character:

This is Pinkle, a character from Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland. You are now aware/reminded that this is a thing that happened. You're welcome.

New info on the Wolf Link Amiibo.

-You will receive Hero Mode from the start, it's the same as it's always been.
-The Gamepad is like TWW HD, featuring all of your inventory on the gamepad.
-Apparently the other Zelda Amiibo won't do much other than small upgrades.
-Wolf Link will unlock a brand new dungeon called the Twilight Cave.
-Still unknown connection to Zelda U.

Huh neat.
Also I noticed that the Wallet has been expanded allowing more rupees to be stored.

Part of the reason I've kept it for so long.

The Wolf Link amiibo will also apparently restore Link's hearts and arrows. As if Twilight Princess wasn't already pathetically easy.

The idea of a new dungeon sounds cool, though. I think this is the first time since A Link to the Past/Four Swords that a remake/remaster/port has included a new dungeon. Hero mode might be a nice addition, too. There have been some screenshots of Link carrying over 1000 rupees, so the Magic Armor might be a bit more useful.

I wonder if you could chose between control schemes.
