Re: The Legend of Zelda
Link turning into a wolf.......is not really a very good reason for wanting the game. I know the game attracted a lot of wolfaboos because of that, but honestly that's only a small part of the game and a shallow reason to buy it in the first place. Allow me to try and offer a better argument in Twilight Princess's favor:
I really enjoyed how large the overworld was, despite how empty it turned out to be as a result. It offered areas to explore (though I wish it had more) and I loved the different atmosphere each part of the world offered. The color palettes were very nice, especially in Zora's domain, and I like the amount of detail put into each character and setting piece. People argue that Twilight Princess was 'brown', but I really only noticed that in the main part of Hyrule Field. The rest of the areas seemed colorful enough to me, especially considering that the main plot in the game involved darkness trying to engulf everything.
I also enjoyed some of the mechanics that the game offered while you were playing as a wolf, like the special 'wolf sense'. And the Twilight world was cool while it lasted. I wish that part of the game had been larger.
Also, the spinner was great fun. When you could use it.
Twilight Princess definitely isn't the best Zelda game, but it's also not the worst by a long shot. And like I said before, it's a favorite for me because it served as part of my gateway to the series.
Midna was a pretty cool character, too. I loved her sassy attitude.

Well yea it wuz a shallow reason, but I liked how much detail that nintendo put into some of the dungeons, like the forest temple and the city in the sky. I honestly almost cried when midna shattered the mirror of twilight. The character design was extraordinary and I liked the twilight realm design with the twilight version of the regular enemies you see in the light realm.

The City in the Sky's music always gave me a throbbing headache. But the boss was pretty cool.

WHERE IS THIS MERLIN I KEEP HEARING OF
What harm could come from imprisoning a hellinternet beast every night and making it hate humanity and what it stands for?
Then we can release it back into the wild.

I should probably finish Twilight Princess...
Re: The Legend of Zelda
I liked Skyward Sword. I really did. The world layout was a bit frustrating, but I liked it anyway.
I can't forgive the goddesses' trials, though. They're just inexcusably bad game design.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
I hate things like that in games that aren't focused on stealth and stuff. It's what keeps me from starting up new files of Wind Waker all that often because it stresses me out badly.
Even so, they were all a lot easier than I thought they'd be. The Eldin one took the most tries just because I couldn't time getting one of them right, but even that wasn't too bad.
Still, I would have preferred a challenge without having to do that.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
I found the Wind Waker stealth segment less unbearable than the ones in Ocarina of Time, though I think that was largely due to the improved control and camera scheme in WW, and the cool Forsaken Fortress music.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
Going around Moblins in the barrel is the worst. I take forever and I'm nervous the whole time.
It makes the second trip to Forsaken Fortress so much better though.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
I think I've just played it so many times now that all the tension has gone out of that sequence for me. Except when the moblins 'half-spot' me and the scare drums play and I lose my nuts.

I am so not exaggerating.
All these people loving TP because Link turns into a wolf...
I remember a time when the next and most amazing Zelda game had Link turn into a PANK BUNNY!

I just beat Link's Awaking DX on my 3DS with the Special Ending. (Also, is there anything past the "The Dev Team would like to thank you for playing this game!" Screen?)
