Re: The Legend of Zelda
Ocarina of Time is still my favorite Zelda game and I'm glad to have the 3DS version. Especially seeing as I never owned a N64.
Re: The Legend of Zelda
I just wish they would have done a bit more with OoT3D--the updated graphics and effects look really nice, but some remastered music or a couple of bonus dungeons would have been nice. Then again, the inclusion of Master's Quest was pretty cool.
please stop that right now
Re: The Legend of Zelda
Apparently one of the composers was actually working on orchestral-style remixes for it but Koji Kondo insisted the game sound like the original.
Re: The Legend of Zelda
But... but that would have been awesome D:

Re: The Legend of Zelda
I like that the redid the music just slightly, mostly for clarity reasons (plus, you can't precisely emulate the N64 sound chips in the 3DS, especially with those speakers). I felt they didn't need to make big flowery orchestrated music for the game, and the game benefitted from being an improvement on the original, making the game what it was supposed to be without the hardware limitations.Crawfish wrote:I just wish they would have done a bit more with OoT3D--the updated graphics and effects look really nice, but some remastered music or a couple of bonus dungeons would have been nice. I mean, I've seen kids whose first experience with OoT be the 3DS version, and it's the same kind of magic at work as it was when the game first came out.
I think that's an accomplishment in itself.
They did however, sneak one orchestrated track in, and it's lovely.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
This game BETTER have a "Chill the fuck out" option when you're on your private island.
Oh that would be great.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
I dunno, it kind of looks too bright? Nitpicking I guess, I don't care about remakes anyway, so eh.

It's a little bright, but I mainly can't believe how drab WW looks in comparison. I mean, WW is a pretty bright game, but in the comparison, it almost seems like the sky is cloudy or something.
Either way, them working on this seems to be helping development of the WiiU game, and with the fact that it's supposed to be non-linear and not limited to playing alone, I guess fans are going to have a lot to be pop flyin' about.

Wind Waker is my favorite Zelda game and omg I screamed shouts of joy at this news. Actually, I'm kinda surprised that it's getting a remake because despite being a decade old it still looks great. I'm still excited as fuck over this news though.
I didn't expect to get a Wii U until probably next year but whoops looks like I'm asking for one for my birthday

Wind Waker's cel-shaded graphics tend to age well. I've never played it on Gamecube, but I'm curious to try it.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
The only thing I don't like so far about the remake is the character models.
They look too claymation-like. Almost to the point where they don't seem real in the setting.
I'm hoping something is done to scale back a little on this. Otherwise, it looks great.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
Keep in mind that they are stills. I bet they look better when fully animated that in just screenshots.
And geez. Nintendo really dropped the ball today. New Zelda, WWHD, SMTxFE, New Xeno game, More 101, some behind-the-scenes footage for Bayonetta 2, and a confirmed lineup of Smash Bros, new Mario, new Mario Kart, and Retro's game at E3.
