Re: The Legend of Zelda
The inclusion of multiple timelines in the canon makes me wonder if the Imprisoned's destruction by the Triforce has resulted in a timeline where Ganon/Ganondorf never came to be.
I gotta say I loved seeing the Isle of the Goddess coming down on top of the spike and seeing everything fitting together. Zelda/Hylia is operating with Batman level planning.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
I never realized the Imprisoned's toes were an attack point. I always went for the head.

Attacking the toes is the default of anyone who's played an MMO.
Stuff goes here later.
Re: The Legend of Zelda
i thought the toes such a conspicuous weak point, i never bothered trying anything else

Re: The Legend of Zelda
The second I realized I could use the giant center tornado to fly up above him, that was my primary attack strategy. Slash at his toes first thing, drop him like he's hot. Wait for him to slide his way up a bit, run to the middle, fly up, land just as he gets up and bam another hit.
Then just repeat steps 2-3 and winner.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
The first time I fought him I was seroiusly sitting there laughing hysterically at how STUPID he looked. I was expecting something much more menacing after all the dream sequences...but nope. He was a copper-plated derp....THING that shimmies on his stomach and has the jiggliest toes I've ever seen.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
Probably not going to happen since The Triforce and the Isle of the Goddess at the end of the game are in the same continuity as Demise inside the Master Sword.Omnithea wrote:The inclusion of multiple timelines in the canon makes me wonder if the Imprisoned's destruction by the Triforce has resulted in a timeline where Ganon/Ganondorf never came to be.

It's always possible that the Isle and Triforce wound up there over the course of time, but all indications seem to point to the timeline remaining intact.
If SS does result in a timeline split, I don't think it'll be a Imprisoned destroyed or Demise defeated timeline. It'll probably pick up on something else.
Re: The Legend of Zelda
Yeah I always went for the toes. They seemed like the obvious attack point (especially considering, you know, you can TARGET them). I tried getting up on his head once but he just instantly shook me off so I never bothered again. I didn't think it was possible.
Also, here's a question that I don't think I've heard anyone ask: Just who exactly is Hylia? Is she an alternate name for one of the three Golden Goddesses or just a fourth one? What does she even represent? etc.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
She's apparently just some Goddess that looked after what we know as Hyrule.
She's not one of the Golden Goddesses, and probably isn't on the same level as them, but she was entrusted with the Triforce (possibly by the Goddesses) even though she couldn't use it.
That's really the extent of her background.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
She's a step down from the Big Three but still better than most, I think of her as a kind of Archangel.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
Beat the game.
Not sure if there are any real spoilers, but I'm spoiling just in case.
Demise killed me like 3 times, and each time dodged my final blow 3 times each time I fought him.
So I said fuck this, and got 3 Guardian Potion+ to fight him. And then he got hit by my second final blow.
I loved Girahim's final battle, and I loved the cinimatics setting up Demise...but I was kinda hoping more than just a sword fight for a final battle. All-in-all it was a good ending.
I deleted my file to start a Hero file or whatever the fuck it's called. I'll do that next time I play through that game

Re: The Legend of Zelda
I just wish they'd actually tell us what Hylia's role in the world is.
All we know is that she kind of guarded the Triforce and had a hand in distributing the Master Sword and the Harp.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
Din, Farore, and Nayru created Hyrule and left Hylia to protect it. Demise, sort of the antithesis to Hylia, arose to destroy Hyrule wielding his own dark sword. Hylia had the Sages help create a sword that could channel her power, the Goddess Sword. They battled and Demise's body was destroyed, his soul sealed away. Hylia was wounded, incapable of completely destroying Demise. She set up an elaborate plan to completely destroy Demise and protect Hyrule. She gave up godhood so that the Triforce could be used by her or her agent. She gave up her sword so that it could be wielded and enhanced by another. She now lives on in the royal line continuing her role unknowingly, protecting the old Gods' chosen land.
