Sadly, the game fell through because people stopped contributing, but it was cool while it lasted.
I really would have liked to have seen that. Dark Link does need more development.
Yeah, Twilight Princess and Phantom Hourglass are the two games I haven't found myself wanting to play over and over. They both have their moments; I love Twilight Princess' story, and Midna and Linebeck are both terrific characters. But the major problem I have with Twilight Princess is how little the world is developed. Look at Ocarina of Time. So many races were introduced, and with the exception of the Sheikah, who are supposed to be mysterious, all of them were really well-developed. Twilight Princess introduced three new races, and the one that's developed the most is the Twili, who are ironically supposed to be really dark and mysterious. And don't say that since OoT is so early, it has to have a ton of development for what it introduces, and later games don't need to do that, because that's bullshit. Wind Waker introduced and developed the Rito and the Koroks, and Minish Cap introduced and developed the Minish and the Wind Tribe. Yes, I realize that Spirit Tracks didn't even have any new races, unless you count the Lokomos, but the Lokomos are supposed to be mysterious, and Spirit Tracks doesn't try introducing a bunch of new races and not developing them. That's like giving your kid an amazing new toy and saying, "Hey, isn't this toy great? Doesn't it look like fun? Well guess what? It doesn't do anything! Have fuuuuuuun!"

I love Spirit Tracks, it's probably my favorite handheld game.

Skyward Sword is beyond frustrating.
Can someone tell me why I can't seem to equip my shield?

Put it in your inventory
Hold (-)
Move the thing to the shield
Okay

I didn't care for Spirit Tracks or Phantom Hourglass, but I didn't
hate them. I disliked the fact that there was limited overworld exploration in Spirit Tracks because you had to follow the train tracks. Even though Twilight Princess's map was large and mostly empty, I liked being able to have free roaming over all of it--and it allowed for more secret places in the far nooks and crannies of each area.
Twilight Princess will always hold a special place in my heart because it's what caught my interest in Zelda. I had played a little bit of Minish Cap once a few years prior, but I wasn't familiar with the series at all. When I saw Twilight Princess, my interest was finally sparked.
Plus, I don't know about anyone else, but the movement controls for Spirit Tracks really ticked me off. I hated drawing a path to move, because while you were drawing monsters were still roaming around and possibly chasing you, and I hated using the stylus to move Link. I can't even count the number of times I've gotten him stuck on a corner because I moved the stylus too soon or something. I have always preferred analogue controls.

Open your equipment screen with the - button, I think, and move the cursor over the shield you want to equip.

I've been doing that over and over. Really don't like this inventory system.

It should stay equiped
You have to shake the nunchuck to use it

The shield bash mechanic is a great one, not gonna lie
However having a shield break mid boss battle is quite alarming

My shield broke when I was fighting the miniboss in the first temple...
Somehow I made it out alive with half a heart

I played Skyward Sword all afternoon. I just beat the first temple.
This game gives me wonderful boners.
And I never use my shield, because when it is equipped every slight nunchuck movement makes it thrust. It pisses me off, so I just keep it unequipped until I fight an enemy where I absolutely need it.

I broke like 5 shields when I first started.
Then when the reinforced iron shield EXPLODED due to me touching an electric monster, I was just like "fuck this" and did no shield. no looking back

I just didn't usually use the shield; I did start using it once I got the goddess shield, since that one repairs itself, and the hylian shield, which never breaks. I still didn't use it that much because of my overly sensitive nunchuk, but man did it come in handy for the final battles.
Sloth, is this a problem with the Wii remote? Does the - button not work or what?
