Welp, now that I quit WoW for a bit, I need an MMO fix.

Someone tell me what I need to get to play this game properly. Expansions and such.

One, its not quite an MMO. Get that misconception out of the way first. Second youll need at least the core game to party with the cool kids. The expansions arnt necessary but they are fun, most of us have Factions but the general consensus is that Nightfall is the best.

The more you know I guess.

I guess I'll buy the core game in the near future and get an expansion later on. And I never have to leave my house to do it. THANK YOU STEAM.

For a cool $40 US you can grab the GOTY Trilogy pack that includes all 3 stand alone games and a nifty golem sidekick.

Probably just gonna go with that if I have the monies. SMG2 can wait.

Its a good deal, the only thing missing is Eye of the North but.....well frankly Eye of the North can go fuck itself. Noone plays it.

Just make sure instances are your thing before you buy this, because the game is pretty much nothing but instances. The only time you interact with a mass of other players is in towns or cities.

We are all playing on Prophecies right now, you don't need anything other than Prophecies for the time being

How many expansions does this game have?

Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall are all stand alone games that can be combined with eachother. Prophecies is the core game. The only real expansion was Eye of the North that added among other things traditional "dungeons" to run.

Aaah. Why does the core game have a fancy title in the first place?
