Riot saying a champ is for a certain lane doesn't mean they will stay there, or even be played there to begin with. Players dictate the meta, not riot.
Zyra was designed as an ap carry and is hardly ever played as anything but support now, tons of junglers are more suited to top lane or mid.
The only role that doesn't have much variety is ranged ad, if they are designed to be a carry, they are pretty much going to stay in bot.

I really like his lore and splash art, personally. Also we needed more wind-themed things.

Also also I'm pretty dang sure his lore hints at Ao Shin.

Face of the mountain is such a cool item, but it doesn't really go well on many supports does it?

It's perfect for a huge tank, if support tanks ever become a thing again.

I could see it on a straight-tank Leona build. Could be terrifying since supports can get items now.

Well, duh. But usually the design standpoint does give way to how a champ will be played. You don't see any bruiser/tanky Talon's or Katarinas for example, do you? Or AP Volis, or full tank Wukong.
If the newly revealed champ is supposed to be fragile and harmless in low levels, then he definitely won't end up in bot lane as a melee adc and will be in a safer position - like intended. Altough how mid lane is exactly safe according to Riot is not of my understanding, as I think it's the riskiest lane in terms of incoming ganks.

I'm just pop flyin' that Riot picked up the new trend of mid lane assassins, which usually are AD. People are too much into the current meta which definitely needs an overhaul, there are enough new champions to mix things up easily. But this probably won't happen, unfortunately, considering how the majority of the community has a stick up their booty and they screech at everything like they're vampires who get a wooden peg hammered into their chest if it even goes the slightest against the current things.

Meh, League of Assassins was getting old imo, but I don't think its a huge problem in the scope of things, it has more to do with a few overly strong champs (that have since been nerfed and are balanced now) and popularity trends than anything else. I am glad to see that they're trying to diversify the squishy melee AD niche, they've stated that they want a melee carry that is more useful in teamfights as opposed to someone like Tryndamere who is usually better off splitpushing.

The other melee carries still need... something, but its a good sign.

Actually bruiser katarina was used a lot about midway season 3 and was the reason why she got nerfed into the ground, until only recently when they're starting to revert some of them.

Whenever riot has introduced a game changing champion they are always overpowered as fuck upon release, (Ahri, Graves, Fizz, Jayce, Rengar, khazix, etc) I expect Yosuo to be fun as hell, but also broken as shit.
They need to change the structure of the game to drastically change the meta, because the season 4 changes especially are very much catering to the current meta.

I expect nerfs to the jungle monsters will be coming soon.

I think its hilarious that people are saying the whole meta is changed 2 days into preseason. We might see more 2-1-2 teams, but there's no way the jungle's gonna stay in its current state. Jungling isn't dead, people, give Riot a week or two.

I really need to stop reading QQ threads on the league forums.
