Ah, proxying was my guess. I rather like the concept but I don't really know how to execute it. I always seem to end up getting one single wave of minions then fleeing out of paranoia.
Edit: Come to think of it I also have no idea what I'm ever going to do if I go up against another Singed.
Also, I really want to like Poppy but she seems like the type of champ that's just kind of... there.

Poppy is incredibly hard to lane with, but incredible to fight with. If only her W gave MR too.
When I play Poppy am I okay in not getting any HP at all and spending the majority of my gold on Armor/MR?

Depends, if they have a lot of dots and sustained damage your passive doesn't really come into effect, otherwise yeah go crazy with the pure defense.

So after a bit more bot plays, I can say that I've fallen in love with Blitzcrank, his abilities are like a super-powered Pudge that can hit really god daisies hard, then he chases down his opponents along with his teammates for the kill.

Yeah. The most satisfying thing is flash grabbing and the enemy dies from the grab damage.
