Depends on the situation, what did you max first? Switching from bird to tiger isn't the same anymore, before you got a buff from phoenix that would make tiger hit harder, but now it's not the same.

Is this a team fight or ganking situation, are you top or jungle?

I never go bird, always max tiger.
Considering I'm more of a Dominion player, I guess you could say top/team fight. However, tips for the jungle with ganking situations would be nice too.
I guess ganking is run in with bear, stun them, and then tiger their butts? Teamfights starting with turtle or bird; but couldn't I get a Sunfire Cape instead so I never have to waste a CD on bird?
What I'm also lost at, Udyr got some buffs which allow him to deal nice damage now, but should I still go for the old ways of Trinity Force and the rest is tanky out of the wazoo?
Should I invest in a Manamune, Blade of the Ruined King, or even Hydra?

You know, stuff like that.

blade is great because it scales very well with udyr, and gives him a range slow, which help him from being kited.

I can't help much with dominion though, summoners rift for life.

If you're going tiger, triforce and zephyr are the way to go. If you're going pheonix (which I only recommend if you're jungling but that's just me), tanky out the booty. Rush that SotAG and throw in an iceborn gauntlet if you really need that extra CC. Although if you're decently ahead and you're not the only tank on your team, triforce is always a good pick up no matter what stance you max first.

Zephyr? I really expected this the least, if anything, the old-school Merc. Treads + Wit's End

And gimme Summoner's Rift tips too, it's not like I always play Dom. Anything helps, really.
My confusion is a bit less about items, but more about stance changing, ESPECIALLY when it comes to player fights, both in 1v1 and teamfights, so I'd appreciate that help the most.

Wits End is an interesting idea, could go well with the magic damage from Phoenix as well as provide attack speed for Tiger.

Try finding some streamers that play Udyr maybe? Teamfights and trading strategies are easier for me to learn by watching what's going on.

Had custom game to teach friends how to play.
Went Kog'Maw and faced-off in mid with my veteran-player friend.

I had a troll build where I bought nothing but all the cheddar-generating items, then building into whatever weapons I wanted to try out.

Got a lot of experience chasing down people with Kog'Maw too.

Then you haven't jungled against a good one. He is capable of reliably stealing each and every single one of your buffs unless you are constantly vigilant and ward your own jungle. If you're not careful he will remove your jungler from the game entirely by denying them everything, allowing all of your other lanes to win because there is no reliable jungle pressure. He doesn't die, you can build anything on him and he will buff his carry whilst simultaneously sabotaging the enemy in every teamfight so that even if you're even on farm, you're still behind.

His ganks could be better and he could transition better but those are minor complaints in the face of everything that he brings to a team, and denies of the enemy.
