I thought Ezreal was pretty common before PFE came out, at least in my experience.

Really I think the reason Udyr got it is just for the cool concept, since he has 4 stances. Riot essentially gave him 4 skins in one.

since when is udyr the least popular champion? Udyr's fallen out of popularity since late season 2 but before that you couldn't get a game without udyr in it. he may not be in his prime right now but a fuckton of people own him.

Also ezreals popular because hes one of the lowest risk, highest reward champions in the game.

Riot also gave Udyr some relevance with the Freljord lore, so he needed to be brought into relevance even more

Maybe, but owning a champ doesn't automatically make him played a lot.

I played a lot of udyr in season 2 but stopped because better junglers came out.

They buffed him quiet a bit, and he's pretty strong, his tiger stance scales off AD now, finally, and his turtle stance gives life steal instead of on hit health/mana. The best part though is he can dash to his target in bear stance, giving him a bit of a gap closer.

I've picked him up again after seeing how strong he can be in a game, he fits my jungle style, counter jungling and being aggressive. Sadly it seems if you fall behind you become a flop.

I remember watching a stream by Saintvicious of how he plays jungle Udyr.

The big argument for jungle Udyr is Phoenix vs Tiger

I like Phoenix because BOID

I think it's situational depending on team comp.

I would go tiger if I want to kill someone early, or counterjungle by killing their jungler early at their buff.

I go Phoenix for clearing jungle fast and being able to gank often, and if I have the chance to run into the enemy jungle and clear it.

True but a lot of the complaints about it seem to be that they're making a legendary for a champ no one has
