I really like this guy's design, but his kit is so... not revolutionary. Riot's been really pushing the envelope with creative new abilities lately, but Aatrox's kit looks like a health-powered Xin Zhao with extra poke.

That being said I do want to try him out when his free week rolls around because he looks so cool

Also, theories are rolling around that Lucien from that leaked art will be released after Aatrox because he's a demon hunter.

So I was playing Sion top (love him by the way) and losing to Olaf. At one point I saw a perfect chance to shut him down because he was chasing our Shen while somewhat below medium health. Shen was running towards me so I hid in a bush, thinking that I could stun Olaf when he comes near and easily kill him. So Olaf comes really close to my stun range...
Then Shen turns around and dies to Olaf, who's just a smidgen too far away from me to chase.

It's funny how a little teamwork goes a long way.

I've been getting a lot better at map awareness I think, and by that I mean I'm getting better at running to the jungle to help kill an invading enemy jungler when I'm playing mid. I still need to work on watching where I'm going when running away from stuff.

I was thinking similarly. My first thoughts involved xin zhao and zac.

Xin Zhao because the hp restored on third hit, and aoe gapcloser thing.
Zac because manaless hp resource champ who gains more hp from using abilities than it costs to use them in the first place, and free GA passive.

But what he basically is, I think, is Riot testing out what can be done with a melee carry. He seems like he would do really well with a botrk and a bloodthirster.

I hope they release a skin of him in a suit, though they'll probably make his voice all deep and guttural instead a classy demon gent

I don't get why people call him a melee carry, though. You could play him like that with straight AD/Lifesteal items I suppose, but I'd think you'd want some tankiness too.

I dunno, maybe he'll be a bit like Nocturne in that he relies more on lifesteal to stay alive than raw health.

Melee carries don't necessarily mean infinity edge phantom dancer bloodthirster, a carry is just someone who needs to be carried through earlygame, but will carry the game lategame. Many tanky bruisers, like riven, are melee carries. Yi and tryndamere are basically the only two who actually build much the same as ranged carries.
