I keep getting random lag spikes as well. I know it's not my internet because my dad doesn't pay for business class internet for it to be slow!

Some games I'll be fine and nothing out of the ordinary will happen, but then others I get like 500 ping every time a team fight is about to start so I'm rendered useless.

On another note; Thresh is fun to play and I keep "accidentally" stealing kills with his E because I haven't played a support with that much damage in a while. I love that he build ap and armor in lane, makes it easier for me to build support items and not have to worry about how squishy I am, or how little damage I'm doing.

I've noticed it in teamfights as well. However my internet is less reliable than business class so it may just be a coincidence. Who knows.

It's just annoying because last-hitting is such a minute detail-oriented thing and a tiny bit of lag can mess it up real bad. Then I end up underfarmed the whole game and wondering where it all went wrong :psyduck:

I don't know who it was, but someone here was really pop flyin' that they introduced the new IP model system for newly released champs, as in, that they are 7800 IP the first week, but then drop down to the regular 6300 IP.
It's just curiosity, but I can't exactly understand the thought process behind that, or rather, why is it actually a good thing?

I think it might be because it also means that they're lowering IP costs more frequently

It's good in the fact that there isn't a huge influx of people doing horrible with the new champion now it's mostly people who saved up that much IP (Me) and then those who bought the bundle for RP.
6300 IP isn't that hard to get if you play a couple of games a day everyday, 7800 is going that extra mile to beat the traffic.

I haven't really seen that many people playing Thresh as opposed to when Vi came out and there were 2 in every blind pick and first pick people in draft mode auto-locking top lane.

But then where's the huge problem that people wait just this one week until it drops to 6300 IP so they can do horrible with them? It just means you'll have the huge influx one week later.

And you can't exactly expect people to be good with a brand new champ who was just released, give 'em a few days or weeks. It's the same with old champions; even if they have been around for more than one year, if you just bought them and never played them before, of course you're not going to be good (and bot games don't really teach you shit).

We had a stubborn player who called support, and picked Galio even though our firstpick already picked Thresh. We told Thresh to go toplane against Nidalee. He won.

I wish I wasn't so close minded on the meta nowadays, I remember how much more fun I had back then with unconventional team comps and champions in the 'wrong' role. I'd really love to play Ziggs as a support today, but oops no friends in the same timezone because I don't feel like getting yelled at by stupid randoms.

So a friend of mine wants to get into LoL, but he's wondering if his ≈2010 emachine can handle it. His internet is decent (satelite).

He can just try it? It's not like the game is free or anything

The new champion price system is good because it means already released champs will have their prices reduced at regular intervals, rather than completely randomly like they did before. so instead of all the old champs being the cheap ones, there will be a better mix.

I used to play LoL on an old penitum 4 dell dimension. I think his machine can run it.

That's true, but I don't see why they'd need to increase the price like this. Especially for one week only, that's like, well, nothing.

It's just a little something to shut up some of the people complaining about people first timing brand new champions in ranked. I believe a lot of people want them to disable new champs for a week in ranked when they come out, but they did this instead, which hits both ranked and normals, but not quite as hard.

It's to lighten the load of people playing the new champ all at once.
