League of Legends
Re: League of Legends
Nunu's ult would be a lot more useful if popping Zhonya's didn't kill channels. Banshee's Veil helps against CC but it doesn't stop a trynd in the face.
Re: League of Legends
Nunu's crazy slow and over-the-top aspd buff and base tankiness make him completely viable to be built purely as a support. he doesn't need to have damage when his ult has enough built in.
also interesting fact. shen's ult will always place him BEHIND the person that is ulted. make of that what you will.

Re: League of Legends
This is just wrong. He has a 1:1 heal, 1:1 nuke, and 1:2.5 ultimate. What Nunu doesn't have, is more than one offensive ability he can consistently use in a prolonged fight.KevTehNev wrote:Nunu has terrible scaling.
He wouldn't be bodaciously one shotting full health champions if his scaling was bad. The real reason full AP Nunu isn't viable is because Ice Blast is all he's got besides his ultimate, and his ultimate is countered by Flash, all hard CC, and all non-targeted or ally-targeting gap closers.

Re: League of Legends
I was playing against him as Kayle earlier today and he was the primary reason we almost lost the game, his ult just blew our entire team to bits and then there was a Karthus bot too
I maxed out a Warmog's Armor, among other health bonuses, and I still barely managed to survive any ult I got trapped in.

Re: League of Legends
Health alone does little to defend you against anything. You need to actually build armor and magic resist.

Re: League of Legends
Oh I had plenty of that as well
The game had dragged on pretty late so I had already bought plenty of decent items

Re: League of Legends
I have this problem where I don't know much about the items. I build the same thing every game, and even though I do A'IGHT I feel like it's holding me back a little.
How do you guys know what to build when and HOW MUCH POTION

Re: League of Legends
Did you have a specific champ in mind? Obviously everybody has their own opinions on what the "best" build is for any given champ.
What I ended up doing is I started thinking "Hmm, what do I need?" Maybe in a certain situation I need more survivability, so I might want to build health, or health regen, or armor; maybe I'm up against mages and I need magic resist; or maybe I'm a mage and I need more mana, CDR, or mana regen... you get the idea.
So from there I look through the menus for whatever stat I think might be useful in that situation, and pick an item based on whether I can afford it or not or whether it builds into anything nice or not. If you're not sure, pick something like a Red Crystal that builds into tons of different things, and decide later. You gotta pay some attention to what the items do, and over time you'll figure out which ones are useful and which ones aren't. Play to the strengths of your champs, especially if they have passives like Rammus where he gets bonus attack with his armor stat. That doesn't mean you have to build ONLY armor, in fact you probably shouldn't. But it's something that you can get a lot out of.
The problem with this method is that there's a lot of trial and error involved if someone's not there to tell you "Don't buy that item, its not worth it". Again, read the descriptions pretty carefully, maybe do some research. Honestly, trial and error's not so bad as long as you avoid things like building Ability Power on a class that doesn't use it, etc.
EDIT: Also, if you have builds that work for you, maybe a good plan would be to just change up one or two things at time, that way you won't be caught off guard when your stats aren't what they normally are. As for potions... totally depends on the champ and how you play them. I actually don't like getting more than three health pots at a time, but I usually opt for more expensive starting items anyway. This does not at all mean that you should do the same since your playstyle could be totally different :U
