I'm pretty sure people don't even gank in low level games. It's never once happened to me during smurfing.

Stealing buffs, backdooring or other tatics are fine and no one should blame you for doing this.
Don't use Flash if you want to fight against people using Flash at a disadvantage. You might not like the fact that it's the best, but it is.
Also, stealing buffs is only fine if you do it to the enemy team.
Don't use Clarity to begin with, it teaches you bad habits and it's hard to unlearn having it at your disposal. Ghost, Heal and Teleport are all excellent.
Experiment with EVERY champ when they're free (even ones people in this thread discredit, like Katarina, Karma and Poppy (the latter who I personally think is underrated)) to see which ones you find fun to play. It is a game, so having fun is the most important goal, even if you don't play 'optimal' champions.
Try and learn the "class" archtypes (bruiser, tank, mage, AD carry, AD caster, jungler), and what champions fall into what category. Knowing which "class" a champion is helps when choosing what items to buy against them.
Don't play TOO much co-op vs. AI (this is a personnal opinion and thus is subjective). It is good for learning what a champion does and how their abilities function before going into a real game. If you play too many, though, they too will teach you bad habits.
Play with some of the people on the forum. Try 1v1 games with someone on Skype who's willing to teach you about last hitting, when to go back to base, what items to buy and in what order, map awareness and harassing. In roughly that order of importance.
Develop a thick skin if you haven't already. People who play this game are assholes, and while you WILL make mistakes that's no reason for someone to be a dick about it. If you find it frustrating when people are constantly on your back throughout a game, use the ignore function. On the other hand, keep your eye out for constructive advice given, and be critical of your own play too. Try and figure out what you did wrong when you died and how you can do better next time.
Also, I don't play on the NA servers much any more but I'm always pop flyin' to chat or give advice, as are most regulars in this thread. Feel free to drop one of us a message if you wanna ask a question, or play some 1v1.

As you can probably tell, there are always varying opinions on what the best champs are and what the best spells are...
Listen to people's opinions, but remember that what's most important is that you develop your OWN playstyle. If someone says champion X is underpowered, but you like playing them, just play them. If someone says "omg use Flash" but you prefer whatever spell combo you've had in the past for that champ, do what you want. Give everything a try, though.
Other people's advice is super helpful, especially when you're starting out, but it's important to get a handle on how you play things so that you can take that advice and tailor it to your needs, especially for more complicated things like builds, mastery pages, runes, etc.

Are you saying I can build a Kage's Lucky pick AND build it into a Morello's? Yes please. Disappointed that Will of the Ancients' price went up, but what're ya gonna do.

Nah dawg, I carried him. He did good but I was dominating top lane so hard I was able to help with dragons and roam the map without losing my tower @ top.
