Practice getting the last hit to kill the little minions so you get the gold. Don't attack enemy champions too close to their turrets unless you know you can get a kill or an easy escape (or you have buttloads of HP late game)

Also I find ranged auto attack champions easiest to learn with

Out of the free champs this week, I recommend MF if you want a ranged AD carry, Annie for a mage, Shen for a tank. They are all easy to learn champs, but have room for mastering.

Cool, I just finished installing it so I'll log in and make a Summoner. I'll get back to you with that when it happens.

Edit: Whoops forgot about patches. Fuck.

I won't have time for a full game, but I'll be online, so send me an invite.

You can add "Crush Bandicoot", I don't mind running bot matches or giving tips, especially in relation to map awareness and realistic planning or build experimenting.

just played a very tumultuous match as fiora.

Early game sivir and I went bot, with akali and shen top and barnd mid. Sivir and I were NOT allowed to farm at all thanks to Galio and AP MF being giant chodes. Meanwhile the enemy jungle Xin Zhao was getting fed from Brand, who kept pushing against a vlad. Eventually bot got fed from me generally underestimating the limited survivability and cc from Fiora. All mid game the enemy team was haranguing my team at every turn, eventually getting through to our nexus. However, we finally won a teamfight after my team started getting some gold, and by late game it was a pretty even match. We finally won after about 50 minutes but hell that was a fucking emotional match.

also if you want me to do some teachin on you I am Shoolis and I am quite sexy

I'm pretty much the guy to ask about everything. When you're looking at champions to buy, I'll repeat what I said a few pages back:
Ganelon wrote:As for buying champions, just stay away from Evelynn, Karma, Karthus, Katarina, Poppy, and Trundle (because they're all weak where it really matters), and Shaco and LeBlanc (because nobody deserves to play against Shaco or LeBlanc).
Try not to blow all your IP on champions, too. You'll need it when you hit level 20 and gain access to Tier 3 runes.

I've seen a number of good Poppys and Trundles. Kats too. EVERY CHAMP IS VIABLE, OKAY?

And while you're at it, teach me how to endgame with Zilean.

Also, cure cancer already.

if you dont snowball with zilean, then you're going to be reduced to an ult whore like kayle by endgame.

he really only kills dumb players

P. Much what Myk said. If you don't feed yourself by late game you'll be reduced to simply buffing your teammates.

He didn't say they weren't viable, he said they were weaker champs in their respective roles than other champs, I agree, even if Trundle or Poppy are fun or whatever or a Karthus gets a penta from a lucky ult or some shit.

You want a new player to start out by learning:
- A skillshot based caster with no escape mechanisms and only a slow for CC?
- A tanky DPS with no ranged harassment, a gap closer knockback that can be easily misused, and an ultimate with a high skill ceiling?
- A tanky DPS with no gap closer or ranged harassment, no hard CC, who is best suited to countering solo AD based champions top in an environment where nobody jungles or understands the metagame?

Trundle and Poppy don't work at all in low level matchmaking where there's no place for melee champions. Karthus is capable of a lot of damage, but I'm not afraid of him at all, and I never have been as any mid. He's just too easy to kill and his strongest counter is the simple concept of moving.

This is extremely specific to the jungler you're playing. Unless you just want the quick summary of "If you kill minions fast at level 1, take the wolves at 1:40 and then the blue buff, because it won't have spawned before you're done."
Cottarsby wrote:And while you're at it, teach me how to endgame with Zilean.

Well, I hope you aren't expecting to deal damage because Zilean is a walking target end-game. He's such an easy kill barring the tankiest of builds that the most effective way to negate his ultimate is to force him to use it on himself, as he can be killed twice with little difficulty. You only need enough AP so that your ult will bring people back with full or close to full health, and your job should just be dispensing movement speed buffs and bombs to your team's initiators while maintaining as much distance as possible from the enemy team's DPS. His ultimate is actually really good, especially when stacking cooldown reduction, because you can have it back in a minimum of 28 seconds, assuming you spam rewind every 3.6 seconds starting from when you first use it. The bombs have nice scaling, but not enough to justify you focusing on them given how they're all he has. Their early game harassment is most of what they're good for.

Well the first thing I'd like to know is the required terminology, since every game seems to have its own freaking lingo.
That's really one of the biggest deterrents when I'm looking to play a game; if it has too much specialized jargon then I won't be inclined to play it because "Whoops you don't know the terms you must be a DIRTY NOOB". An example I saw here is "jungling" or "jungler". What even is this.

But yeah I'm just airing out a gripe I have, nothing personal to you guys. I would like to approach the learning the language concept with civility.
