Uh, there were plenty of people on the server when I played the trial.
Why would you pay $15 a month and skip most of the game? There's actually a story behind WoW, and it's narrated through the quests.

With the new Looking for group tool - you can start the game, do the begining quests, and sort of get used to your class, and then at level 15 do random dungeons accross all servers with different people. It makes it pretty fun, and super fast to level.

If you played on Gorgonnash, I play on there, and have a few level 30's when you got up there - and then a few 70-80's.

Last time I tried to play this game I could not make it to level 15. I tried three times before.

I was that bored and lonely.

There was one other person I saw but he was being powerleveled.

I would immagine that an MMO with out the middle M wouldn't be much fun. I've been playing for the last 5-6 years now? And I remember when there were TONS of people in the lowbie zones.

I would really suggest putting off starting for a few months, when Cataclysm launches, I'd start then - there's going to be soooo many people making new characters to go through the new zones. You can join my group of friends leveling up our goblins, if you would play horde.

Yup, pretty much the same as me. I don't think getting up to level 80 would change much.
Then again, I soloed.

I don't doubt that it is a good game but it is just so hard to get into an MMO when you're the only player.

Man if I still had some time left I would give you a referral code :c. Whenever you play in the same group as a person who referred you, you get 3 times the xp (up to level 60).

DKs were super strong when they came out, but now they've been nerfed like crazy. And Badfish, are you crazy? Even pallys know they're the most OP.

@Decker: If you want someone to powerlevel through an MMO... what fun is that? And, I have no idea how you didn't see anyone.

part of the fun in wow is the leveling experience

There is really very little, if any way to power level in WoW anyway.

Powerleveling might get you to level up in uh, 75-80% of the time you can solo. It's barely any faster than doing it yourself.

The EXP curve in WoW is really shallow.

Could just join a New Players server. Trollbane is one now, and dear lord I see about 5 people in the very first starting zone (1-5). What might also be a solution is joining a leveling guild. You can talk to people while doing quests, get help if you need it (daisies you Steelsnap or HOGGER!), and maybe even a dungeon run.

I recommend against Trollbane if you don't like idiots trolling all the goddamn time.

So, Wrath of the Lich King seems pretty cool so far. I have to say, though, WoW was the last game I expected to be sawing zombies in half with a tank in.

Anyway, in one day of playing, I managed to get halfway to level 71. Thus, I estimate it will take me about... 20-30 days to hit 80.
