This version...
...is HORRIBLY sucky!
Okay, first, the graphics. I mean, the original hardly-ever-an-image graphics were better than this! I mean, it really ruins the whole scale of epicness of the whole game when the image of your wagon only moves 2 meters a day!
Second, the advice stuff is completely gone. How much food am I expected to buy?
Third, they completely removed actually being able to tell how wide and deep the river is. I mean, in the original, half the fun of Fording the river was laughing at how you lost half your oxen crossing a river that's 10 centimeters deeper than the one you got past perfectly safely! Now it's just "the river is wide and shallow"
Fourth, the death messages. In this one, it's just "X has died" in a tiny red font. They don't even tell you what they died from!
And fifth, and perhaps the biggest of all, hunting:
But in terms of actually good Oregon Trail remakes, I'm looking forward to the WiiWare one coming out!

You bought bullets? Why would you do such a thing?! I mean, the chance of actually getting an average of 20lbs per hunt is pretty slim (mostly because of the god-awful way you have to do it), not to mention that hunting eats up quite a lot of time!Odds wrote:hunting for food is the worst
HERE'S A DEER
