Okay, I want NN2 NOW, but I just know as soon as I buy it Steam will put it on sale for like 80% off or something a week later.

welp dota 2 runs like shit on my PC. not to mention it feels completely different from LoL and it's like i'm jumping into something i've never done before.

Miyamoto is brilliant when it comes to game design, but he's also the reason why the Mario or Zelda series almost refuse to advance at all. And people need to keep in mind, a lot of his ideas for game direction were really REALLY bad. I mean, imagine if he got his way with OoT. We'd have a Doom-esque perspective game where you climb a castle with different levels of terrain in it for each floor. Would this really have been a great alternative?

And to clarify, he doesn't think stories are stupid, he just prioritizes gameplay over it, because a game could have the most engaging story ever made and not be a bit of fun to actually play, which is the entire point of making a video game as opposed to something that's much more story driven such as movies.

Also, I can't really imagine a main series Mario game with a substantial plot. I'd be afraid of the game losing its wackiness if they have to put plot twists and character development moments or shove something into it. I'm perfectly pop flyin' with leaving them bare bones and getting actual plot from the RPG series. Though, I wouldn't be opposed to a main series game focusing on a MacGuffin collection (not like stars, but actually going though levels and worlds to collect something substantial, almost like the Zelda games/the RPG series games). Those could be cool, and a bit of fresh air from "proceed to the end of the game to beat up Bowser".

Yeah, one thing that makes Mario Games so great is that nobody knows what the fuck is going on besides Mario wants some fucking cake.
I remember when Sunshine came out people were up in arms about how they added voice actors and an a plot.
I still love the game, though

Sunshine was fun, but the plot and the execution of said plot was terrible.

I enjoyed Sunshine, but not for the plot. However, I was thankful that they actually tried giving it a plot. It fell flat on it's face, but they did try.

I have always valued plot over gameplay. That's probably what draws me to playing so many RPGs. Not saying that I can't enjoy a good mindless game with good gameplay and piss poor plot every once in a while, but I tend to get bored with them quickly.

I'm also kinda big on games having a good soundtrack.

I theorize bowser raped her in mario 3, ya know that room you find peach in? Its bowsers sex room, mario flipped the switch on so the room had a sexy atmosphere.

The koopalings? Adopted, Bowser jr. is Bowsers only blood son, thats why he treats the other koopalings like crap.

MARIO, HOW DARE YOU INTERRUPT MY VACATION

I dunno, normal Mario games (platformer ones) don't need any plot other than
"Princess peach is kidnapped by Bowser in [way]. Go get her." And the game's main gimmick (space, tropical paradise, etc)
Other ones, like the RPG's, etc, which have vastly different gameplay need plots (Mario RPG, Paper Mario, etc)
